There is a reason why we have had Drake ranked as the top wide receiver in the class for a while now as if you watch his first clip on tape from last week you will see why, not only are we well aware that he has great hands, a long catch radius, but his first clip showed us how well this young man can run-block with his running back headed his way as Drake towered the blocker and slipped his Orioles RB free for a touchdown. He also is showing more jets off the top of his route from what I saw a season ago as Drake was one our top-tier Dakotas prospects at Midwest camps this summer in this 2027 class. He just took his first FBS visit to Iowa last weekend and holds one FCS offer from South Dakota and I am sure more offers are surely coming his way over the next several months at the D1 level.

The new name alert has been sounded, as 2027 running back Bane Yellow Eagle of Todd County catcches our attention the first time. Bane impressed me with the good patience and vision he has on tape from his first look as he shows off a junior running back that is a fluid north-south runner. I especially am intrigued by Bane when he gets the HB toss coming his way as watching the tape, I was surprised to how greater of a finisher this kid is for his size. Bane sure looks like a 2027 to add to our SD radar.

This week we feature for the first time, our WR! and WR2 in the same class as [player_tooltip player_id='1293067' first='Jase' last='Unzen'] of Sioux Falls Jefferson also made our Big Dogs of the Week in South Dakota for Week 8/9. The 5'10 170 pounder is one of the most intirguing 2027 wide receivers in the Dakotas you will find in the open field as that caught my attention deeply this week even more than it had when the 2027 rankings came out. Not only has Jase balanced his stock from his ranking, but this young man is showing he has some of the best hands too in this class as well. Surely a 2027 WR to buy stock on early.

One of the best quarterback tapes I found in South Dakota this week, came from 11A powerhouse Sioux Falls Christian and 2028 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1397495' first='Cooper' last='Strande']. I was impressed with his ball placement for his age on both of his passing touchdowns. He also utilized the proper touch on both of those touchdowns allowing his wide receiver to utilize his size to his advantage over the top. I always love seeing athletes elevate their game at new poistions outside of where I have them ranked, which is the case with Cooper as a riser in this 2028 class.

Another top ranked SD prospect in our 2027 class that dominated this week came from Sioux Falls Washington's [player_tooltip player_id='1300016' first='Brayden' last='Jackson'] who is our RB1 in this class.. The 5'11 200 pounder showed why he's my top running back in the class as you see the development made from a fluidity perspective and he appears as one of the most patient running backs in the Dakotas in this class with also locked-in vision that's quick to identify the gap openings and utilze his burst. He's one college coaches should know early for sure in this 2027 class.
