of Lennox picked up an offer from 2024 FBS playoff competitor Boise State yesterday. The last WR from South Dakota that picked up a Boise State offer? Another WR1 in our class which was SDSU WR Landon Dulaney in the 2025 class. Drake has some of the best hands we’ve seen in the Mount Rushmore State in a while as the tape wastes no time showing it off. At 6’5 210 pounds, you can bet he has “truck like” durability thru contact and already owns the state record for receptions in 11A and still has a season left under his belt. He’s now up to nine D1 offers between FBS and FCS

There is a reason why we have had Drake ranked as the top wide receiver in the class for a while now as if you watch his first clip on tape from last week you will see why, not only are we well aware that he has great hands, a long catch radius, but his first clip showed us how well this young man can run-block with his running back headed his way as Drake towered the blocker and slipped his Orioles RB free for a touchdown. He also is showing more jets off the top of his route from what I saw a season ago as Drake was one our top-tier Dakotas prospects at Midwest camps this summer in this 2027 class. He just took his first FBS visit to Iowa last weekend and holds one FCS offer from South Dakota and I am sure more offers are surely coming his way over the next several months at the D1 level.

Drake moved deep into our top 10 checking into the #2 overall spot as a continious WR1 in the 2027 class out of the 11A 2024 state champion Lennox Orioles. The 6’5 195 pounder has some of the most smooth hands hands the Dakotas has to offer in this 2027 class, and uses his contact balance really well on his routes with a great basketball background. Obviously with those measurables, Drake shows off great length in his wingspan to cash in on precision throws with his reach and also has the massive catch radius Division I coaches are going to want. I also love his ability to improvise on his routes, which is super intriguing on tape. He has the great fluidity with his route-running and is another one in this class without his first offer yet, but I would bet that changes this summer if not before.

Another 2027 stockriser moving deep into our top 10 into the #2 overall spot and continuing as WR1 in the class is Drake Mikkelisen out of the 11A 2024 state champion Lennox Orioles. The 6’5 195 pounder has some of the smoothest hands the Dakotas has to offer in this 2027 class and uses his contact balance really well on his routes with an ideal basketball background. Obviously with those measurables, Drake shows off great length in his wingspan to cash in on precision throws with his reachs and also has a huge catch radius. His ability to improvise on his routes also are really intriguing on tape.
