It allows programs to upload statistics, creating a state-wide data base to help measure achievement.

This season, pancake blocks were added to the football numbers. Other than analytics, it's been a reliable way to stack up offensive linemen. There's subjectivity in awarding someone a pancake, but it's at least something for a position where guys are often only recognized for missing assignments.

Here are some dudes around the state stacking them up:

Through five weeks of the 2025 season, Vannausdle was leading the state in pancake blocks, according to Bound. The Dragon senior was credited with 51, which is more than 10 per contest. DII Northwest Missouri State secured a verbal commitment from Vannausdle, which is a great get for a player of his potential. In watching his highlights through five weeks of the campaign, we witness an athlete at left tackle. The opening clips show him getting out in space and effortlessly reaching blocks. He repeats that ability through the film and also displays solid work when operating in tight quarters, whether that be in pass protection or paving the way for the run. Vannausdle is a physical presence that plays through the whistle with aggressiveness.

Video highlights were limited to the first three games of last season prior to the 2025 campaign kicking off. I liked what I saw and wrote about him this summer. I then noticed that he was among the state's leaders in pancake blocks this fall and decided to check in on him again. The Wahawk senior posted highlights from the first three contests. Lining up inside of a Power 4 teammate at left guard, the massive St. Jean doesn't move mountains but defensive linemen pose limited threats. He's explosive off of the ball and gets into his opponent with force. St. Jean operates with good balance and leverage. His strong hands further help him neutralize his guy. St. Jean is being slept on along the recruiting trail.

Brenneman broke out as a sophomore last season. He's followed that up with an excellent first half of 2025. We can witness evidence of his growth when watching highlights from the first four contests of his junior campaign. Operating at left tackle, Brenneman was credited with 26 pancakes in the first five weeks. His length and athleticism create an excellent foundation for future success. Brenneman is starting to realize his potential, showing added strength and improved technique this fall. He explodes off of the snap and often overwhelms opponents before they can get started. He drives through them and controls their movements. His setup and feet are sound in pass pro. Brenneman also impacts the action as a defensive lineman, which speaks to his agility.

A three-year starter on the Yellow Jackets' offensive line, Myers has steadily developed physically and as a tactician in the trenches. Lining up at left tackle this fall, we can see Myers dominate the competition when watching highlights from his first four contests. Myers plays fast and physical, while under control and with balance. He's strong up top and at his base, precise hand placement and power also shine through. Myers certainly could help at tackle one the next level with the versatility of moving inside, where his agility and athleticism would be a benefit.

Buthe impressed me when I saw his sophomore film following the 2024 campaign. I wrote about his potential and looked forward to progress shown as a junior. When I checked in on early-season film, I saw just that. Buthe stands out for his agility, mobility and athleticism. There are no issues in reaching blocks, including well into open space. He runs like a tight end when pulling and arrives at the opponent with bad intentions. Already a player embracing physicality, plenty of projection remains for Buthe's frame. He can comfortable add strength and mass without sacrificing the assets that already make him effective. Buthe is a prospect as a defensive lineman, too. There's a lot for colleges to like.

Jett is an interesting prospect that colleges could be split on in terms of position. He has the toolbox to excel as a defensive tackle. That said, he's already achieving success on the other side of the trench. Jett is suited for the center position. He's powerful, plays with good pad level and reacts well in tight quarters to handle chaos. Jett had been credited with 10 pancakes through his team's first five games. His highlights illustrate his effectiveness in working with teammates on combo blocks and handing off defenders. Keep an eye on this kid.
