Hidden Gems: Unranked Seniors Spotlight (Pt. 5)

The 2025 WV high school football regular season is wrapping up, and many seniors have emerged this year who aren't currently placed in our rankings. We'll be highlighting these athletes in the coming days who may be flying under the radar in their final year.    A new name to our radar this season who poses a lot of upside as a prospect is 2026 Hampshire TE/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1992092' first='Blane' last='Billmeyer']. He's a long and lanky outside receiver for the Trojans, but could likely grow into a tight end at the next level after some time spent in a college strength program. Billmeyer uses his size well on 50/50 balls and can outjump defenders with his length to win consistently. His upside as a DE prospect also shows up on film if he can add the needed size for the position. Billmeyer is a big ball of clay that can be molded into a future college starter and is worthy of D2 programs taking a flyer on him.      2026 Tucker County DL [player_tooltip player_id='1693727' first='Josh' last='Crossland'] is a must-know small school prospect who's having a big senior season for the Mountain Lions. He's posted 55 tackles and 15 TFLs in 8 games this season as a dominant player at the Class A level. Crossland has quality 6'1 220 size that can be further molded, and he has the potential to earn scholarship offers if he's able to. He uses his hands well, playing along the interior of the defensive line, and does a great job of getting off blocks. Crossland has quality short-area quickness and can make a play in space with consistent penetration into the backfield.      The Bridgeport Indians have done a great job of reloading in 2025, coming off a state championship run the year prior, and it's because of athletes like 2026 LB [player_tooltip player_id='1992109' first='John' last='Knight'] stepping into bigger roles as an upperclassman. He's leading the team in tackles with 65 from his middle linebacker spot as your classic hard-nosed, downhill player that the Indians pride themselves on. What Knight lacks in length at 5'9, he makes up for by playing behind his pads and driving ball carriers backward to prevent yards after contact. He also reads plays very well and fits the run at a high level as a big part of their defensive success this season.      The Hampshire Trojans have a very good senior class that has them on track for possibly one of their best seasons in school history, and new names like 2026 LB [player_tooltip player_id='1949295' first='Brent' last='Evans'] are emerging. He has a good frame at 6'0 205 with quality athleticism that will give him the potential to develop into a future college contributor. Evans is raw as a player, but he has the physical intangibles for a college program to show interest in and spend time developing in their system. He's a good candidate to earn some D3 interest over the next few months in our eyes.      [player_tooltip player_id='1605752' first='Woody' last='Smith'] is an unsung player for the Hedgesville Eagles who small colleges should be interested in as a prospect. He's a smaller athlete, but does a good job of competing and playing hard as the type of competitior that you'd want in your program. The bulk of his film this season is at defensive back, but Smith has some playmaking potential with the ball in his hands on offense and on special teams as well. He breaks down in space well as a tackler and has the speed and quickness to stick to receivers. Smith should earn some D3 or Sprint Football college opportunities.      The Wheeling Park Patriots have several under-the-radar prospects in their senior class, with the next one being OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1879098' first='Kaden' last='Coyle']. He's a prospect that D3 programs should be checking out as a player with some potential to play in college with continued development. When Coyle is firing off the ball, he's at his best as a player, which you see more of in the first two games of the season. Film has been limited since then, but at 6'1 240, and some upside on film, Coyle may earn some college opportunities.      [player_tooltip player_id='1235250' first='Levi' last='Price'] has been a multi-year player for the East Hardy Cougars during his career and is worth spotlighting in his senior year. He has potential as a skill position prospect or as a specialist with success in the kicking game throughout his past four seasons. Price is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and does a nice job after the catch and as a returner on special teams. His athleticism benefits him as a kicker, which may be his best position as a college prospect. Price is capable of playing receiver or kicker at the next level, and D3 programs should be targeting him for both.
