Fast and Physical Defensive Performances of Week 8

We have an outstanding cross section of defensive talent from our great state in this week's recap! We have standout names to know, all uncommitted, from the Classes of 2026 all the way down to the Class of 2029. A perfect representation of our goals here at PRZ WI. Finding athletes that need the spotlight on them, freshman through seniors. These kids played fast, physical, and most of them brought home the W. So let's watch some tape, and highlight these athletes.    Stats: 9 Tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FR, 1 PBU   We have loved the athleticism that Corbin brings to the LB position dating back to the 2024 season. However, as a junior Corbin has taken that next step forward. He is explosive in his movements, covering ground quickly both in short areas and out in space. Corbin also possesses impressive ball skills you don't usually see from an LB, helping him grab INTs and knock down passes. For such a rangy and athletic LB, Corbin doesn't sacrifice any physicality either. He will muscle his way through blocks and he will drop the hammer on ball carriers to end plays. I'm very excited to watch the key contributor on this Bradford defense continue to develop.      Stats: 12 Tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 FF   Noah played as a box safety this past week while facing off against the run-heavy Brookfield Central offense. The senior looked right at home doing that dirty work of playing through contact, shedding blocks, and making tackles against some big ball carriers. The senior safety proved he could set the edge, disengage and still make the tackle himself. Even when he didn't start in the box, the senior showed off the closing burst to still get involved against the run game. It was a great week on the edge and in the slot for the senior safety.      Powerful. That is how I would describe the 6'2" 215 lbs junior LB in one word. Every movement or hit is loaded up with power that is ready to deliver through a tackle or into a lineman or FB to shed a block. The instincts showed up on tape this week too, sniffing out screens and doing a great job of finding the ball play to play. The speed and range compared to his sophomore season looks more improved and Aiden looks more comfortable overall moving around the field. Get this kid on your radars.      Stats: 12 Tackles   When playing a team like Mukwonago you have to be ready for a physical battle, and Josh was ready for that challenge. He was aggressively flying downhill against the run and providing sound tackles after doing a great job of knifing through the front seven to get to the ball. Having a tackler like Josh gives your defense that security knowing your last line of defense can make those key stops. The range that the senior showed off was great to see too. Going from his safety position to the box to make tackles, or moving well in coverage including making a hit that led to a tipped pass and INT. Size, range, and a willingness to play physical and tackle make Josh an intriguing senior athlete.      Stats: 6 Tackles, 1 TFL   I'm liking the potential that the junior edge defender out of Oregon is showing. Great length on his 6'3" frame with a ton of room to fill out that lean 190 lbs frame. We saw Will primarily out in space in a wide alignment on the edge. Sometimes even over the slot. The junior looked at home out there, moving and changing direction in coverage and then flipping the switch and going on the attack when he saw the ball in front of him. As he gets bigger and stronger the OLB will be able to set an even stronger edge when he comes in to play run support. Solid building blocks to grow on.      Stats: 7 Tackles, 1 TFL   We have a freshman making plays on varsity! It is safety [player_tooltip player_id='1590041' first='Will' last='Blask'] for Waukesha South who led his team in tackles in a Week 8 victory. When I pull up a 5'11" 150 lbs freshman I don't expect to see him flying around the entire field making tackles against WRs and RBs, but that is what Will did. The range jumps off the tape. One play he went from the slot to making a tackle near the opposite sideline. I love how fearless the freshman is already playing on Friday nights, getting involved in every hit he possibly can. To be able to get involved in that much run defense you need to be able to read the play and find the ball. Will did a great job of that and trusting what he saw. I'm very excited to watch his career unfold in front of us.      Stats: 14 Tackles, 2 TFLs   Senior ILB [player_tooltip player_id='1861740' first='Thade' last='Drier'] was a heat-seeking missile in Week 8. First we saw the range to chase down the ball off the edge and then run through his tackle attempt to drive the ball back. Then we saw some stops between the tackles and that got me fired up. Thade is undersized, but the way he can fly around the front seven with his lateral agility and then fire downhill when he moves into an opening is a next level skill. It was impressive watching him move through traffic untouched and then make those big time hits. The senior has a nose for the ball, knows how to get through traffic to get to it, and is a very reliable tackler when he gets there.      Stats: 10 Tackles, 5 TFLs, 4 Sacks   What a performance from the senior DE! Every single time Nick gets back onto my radar it is for a special effort that usually includes a rare amount of sacks. This week fits that as the senior made 4! Just this week, Nick got to the QB with a powerful bull rush, a quick rip down of the OTs hands while running the loop, shedding a blocker and chasing down the QB beyond the pocket, and his final one came off a play where he retraced his steps and got the QB trying to slip out of the pocket. The senior can win with speed or power, has a long frame that is filling out very well, and the production is there to support the talent on film. There is so much to like about the senior DE. Come get your guy!      Stats: 8 Tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 Sack   Rocco is a new name to my radar this season, but there are noteworthy traits to dive into. The senior starts the tape with some nice bend while running around the edge on the OT to get to the QB for a sack showing some speed and flexibility. Following that, Rocco won with lateral agility, setting up the OT outside then quickly crossing his face to win inside and then close quickly on the ball. That wasn't the only time Rocco won with speed to the inside either. While the senior might not have the length for the edge position he has the athletic tools to be a player at LB in some manner.
