The 6-foot-4, 205-pound defensive end has a quick first step and good use-of-hands to shed blocks and reach the quarterback. He is a solid pass rusher but an even-better run defender at the point-of-attack, wrapping up ballcarriers easily and using his size and length to his advantage. As a sophomore he has excellent closing speed as a run defender and takes great angles to the ball. Grilli is effective in coverage, timing the ball with his hands and breaking up passes. Could excel also as a wide receiver. In coverage he is fantastic, with good use-of-hands and ability to stay in-phase without getting flagged. I am impressed with his ball skills; he can bat down passes and displays good timing on breakups.
