Jamal Brown started off conference play with a bang against a crosstown rival, showing once again why he's one of South View's most dangerous weapons. The 6'4", 200+ pound quarterback made every touch count — completing 7 of 11 passes for 3 touchdowns.

Brown, one of my pregame X-factors, proved his value on the ground as well. He added 10 carries for 67 yards and another score, continuing a clear trend: when South View wins, Brown's legs are a big reason why. His dual-threat ability makes him a nightmare to contain and a true tone-setter for the Tigers' offense.

Cris Simmons Jr. was the perfect complement to quarterback Jamal Brown in South View's conference opener. The junior running back carried the load with power and consistency, finishing with 24 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown.
