4A Workhorses: Top Rushers Dominating This Season

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">These workhorse backs have been carrying the load for their teams all season, putting up big numbers and breaking defenses week after week. Here's a look at the top rushers dominating the 4A division this year.</h2>    At 5'10” 190 pounds, Vandyke has been nothing short of dominant, leading the 4A division in rushing by a wide margin with 1,676 yards and 18 touchdowns on 223 carries. He's a downhill runner who combines lateral quickness and power, showing the ability to make defenders miss in space while finishing runs with strength and balance. Vandyke's blend of vision, burst, and physicality makes him one of the most productive and difficult backs to contain in the state this season.     At 6'1” 190 pounds, Jackson has been highly productive this season, rushing for 1,376 yards and 18 touchdowns on 186 carries. A quick, explosive back with true game speed, he shows great natural instincts as a runner, using subtle cuts and sharp vision to create his own lanes. He's smooth and decisive through the hole, able to fit through tight spaces and accelerate into the open field. With his size, speed, and feel for the position, he's a complete back who consistently finds ways to move the chains and finish runs.     A true workhorse, totaling 1,281 yards and 18 touchdowns on 159 carries. He runs with a strong, compact frame at 5'7” 175 lbs. and shows the ability to make defenders miss at the first level before bursting into space. Possesses excellent leg drive and contact balance, allowing him to fight through tackles and finish runs with power. A tough, durable back who combines quickness, vision, and strength, he's the kind of runner that can carry an offense to a reliable and consistent rushing attack every week.      Kaczmarek has carried the Mesquite rushing attack all season with 1,260 yards and 20 touchdowns on 188 carries. At 5'11” 200 pounds, he's an aggressive runner who presses the line of scrimmage quickly and accelerates through the hole with speed. Runs with great pad level and leverage, making him a tough open-field tackle. While he brings plenty of power, he's more than just a power back showing the vision and agility to weave through defenders and consistently create explosive gains. A physical, balanced back with the ability to punish defenses and move the chains on critical downs.      Break out season for the junior RB racking up 1,227 yards and 15 touchdowns on 173 carries, averaging 136 yards per game. At 5'11” 205 lbs. he's a hard downhill runner who applies immediate pressure to the defense to be gap sound. Shows good open field speed once he hits the second level. Flashes excellent contact balance and quick cut balance, allowing him to slip through gaps and absorb contact while maintaining forward momentum. Tough, crafty, and savvy with the ball in his hands, he runs with both power and patience, making him a big play threat any time he touches the ball.
