2027 Recruiting Watch: Rising Prospects You Need to Know

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The class of 2027 is already showing signs of big-time potential, with several underclassmen stepping into the spotlight this season. From explosive playmakers to dominant defenders, these rising prospects are making noise early and catching the attention of college programs across the country. Here's a look at some of the 2027 recruits you need to know as their stock continues to climb.</h2>    Jordan just pulled in his first P4 offer from Washington State and prove why he is one of the state's premier 2027 defensive prospects. The 6'3” 220 lb. hybrid DE/OLB is an explosive and technically sound edge rusher who plays fast and physical, using strong hands, leverage, and quick get off to collapse the pocket and disrupt plays behind the line. Shows great lateral movement and bend off the edge with the versatility to defend the run or rush the QB. Shows he can use a variety of moves to beat blockers with a combination of speed and power to free himself up. Plus athleticism and body control to redirect to the ball carrier and close space with speed in pursuit. Holds three D1 offers to date and is expected to see increased attention as the recruiting cycle progresses.      At 5'9” 180 lbs. Wilson is a versatile and explosive player out of the slot or lined up in the backfield. He's quick and twitchy in the short area, showing the ability to make defenders miss with sharp lateral cuts and sudden change of direction. Strong acceleration through space, he limits wasted movement and bursts away from defenders even in tight spaces. Once in the open field, he displays strong top end speed that allows him to turn routine plays into chunk gains or touchdowns. Smart and instinctive with the ball in his hands understanding spacing and leverage to read his blocks well and hit open lanes decisively. Out of the slot, he's dangerous on quick-hitters, jet sweeps, and screens where his short area agility and burst make him difficult to contain. With his combination of speed, vision, and versatility, he's the kind of offensive weapon who can impact multiple phases of the game. Recent picked up his first D1 offer from Northern Arizona.      Roebuck is one of the most explosive two-way athletes in his class, making an impact at both wide receiver and defensive back. Quick and sudden in his movements, he's electric with the ball in his hands, capable of turning short plays into highlight-reel moments. His burst and acceleration make him a constant threat to take it the distance, while his twitch and body control allow him to separate as a route runner and close quickly in coverage. On defense, he shows great instincts and fluid hips, staying tight in man coverage and breaking on the football with confidence. His recruitment is starting to heat up with his first two offers from Maryland and Washington, and more are sure to follow as his name continues to rise on the national radar.     At 6'4” 225 lbs., Scott brings an ideal frame and the kind of athleticism that allows him to impact the game on both sides of the ball. He's a versatile athlete with the size and strength to play in-line as a true TE, but also fluid and explosive enough to flex out wide or line up on defense. His combination of length, coordination, and movement skills makes him a mismatch in the passing game and a physical presence in the run game. He's got plus ball skills with the ability to play the ball in tight spaces and away from his body. Uses his body to create positional leverage and shield defenders from the ball at the catch point. Physically dominant in the run game, he's able to latch on to sustain and drive his feet/hips through contact to create movement. Recruitment kicked off in the spring with offers from Utah, New Mexico, and San Diego State then recently added UNLV.      The Williams Field WR's recruitment has been steadily rising since the spring now holding 12 D1 offers. Ranked near the top of 2027 receivers he's got great physical ability paired with strong technique to possesses a complete skillset. Great initial burst and drive phase off the LOS and the top end speed that allows him to stretch the field and separate vertically. He's quick in the short, using sharp footwork and sudden bursts to create separation underneath and establish himself as a target in tight spaces. A plus route runner, he's fluid in and out of his breaks, maintaining balance and tempo to consistently gain leverage on defenders. He also shows a natural ability to track the ball mid flight, adjusting smoothly and attacking it in the air with confidence. Expect for the offers to keep rolling in for him and he projects as a complete offensive weapon at the college level.
