Week One Prospects to Add to Your Recruiting Board

We'll be highlighting new names that we add to our recruiting board that colleges should also consider. He seems like he'll emerge as one of their top targets in the passing game, as he led the team in receiving in game one with 3 catches for 70 yards against a Woodrow Wilson team with talented defensive backs. After watching his film from game one, Durand has some natural ability as a pass catcher with quality athleticism and ball skills. He transferred in from Pennsylvania for his junior year and immediately started at inside linebacker for the Mohigans. Williams showed good play recognition against Parkersburg and attacked the ball with high effort. He'll be one of the Beavers' top playmakers on both sides of the ball and made an impact in Bluefield's big win over rival Graham (VA). Simon had a big touchdown on a post route on offense and picked off a pass at Nickel, attacking the ball in the air and wrestling the 50/50 pass in for the turnover. He'll be stepping up at linebacker this season for the Bulldogs after waiting his turn the past two years. Martinsburg knows how to develop talented players at that position and had the 2024 Huff and Howley Award Winner there last season in Ace Flores, who has since graduated. The junior started at center against a good Jefferson squad and did some good things in his first varsity start. Droneburg handled a zero-tech nose guard well in the Cougars' three-man front, which is a difficult task for a first-time varsity center. He put in a lot of work over the off-season at kicking camps and training, and it's going to pay off for Davis over the next two seasons. Davis converted on a 30-yard field goal in game one versus a stout Frankfort team and also made his lone extra point attempt. He proved he could also get it done in the punting game with a 52-yarder that forced the returner to retreat. The passing game is a work in progress, but DeMoss showcased his athletic versatility with 86 rushing yards and 12 tackles on defense from his linebacker spot. The DeMoss name is well known in that area, as older brother Josiah had a stellar career.
