Week 3 Game Balls: Offense

After three weeks, we're starting to get a clearer picture of which players and teams are emerging as the top performers. We're handing out game balls to the offense, and since I'm running behind this week, I'll combine the quarterbacks and skill players.   Which offensive players earned game balls in Week 3?   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Balls: Week 3 Offense</h2>    The phenom freshman continued his torrid start to the season in a 33-33 tie against Asheville School. Michalak threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns against a solid defense. The Ambassador Christian staff continues to trust their guy to throw it all over the field, and he stood in the pocket and delivered over and over. He has the arm strength, decision-making, and poise to thrive as a college prospect.     Green Hope went 0-10 last season and threw for just under 700 total yards. Through three games in 2025, Goulet has helped lead the Falcons to a 3-0 start and has thrown for nearly 750 yards. Last Friday, he completed 80% of his passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns in a close win over Athens Drive. It's a sign the Falcons have truly turned everything around in 2025.     When I studied Southeast Raleigh this offseason, I though the running game would be the key, but Powell has been fantastic as a passer. He's up to eight touchdowns in three games, including a four-touchdown performance against East Wake. The senior has great size and has delivered with accuracy, capped by a 284-yard day on 70% passing.     Sanchez is a speedy scat back, but he was a workhorse last Friday, running for nearly 300 yards in a close loss to Blue Ridge (SC). Polk County has a history of producing some talented backs an Sanchez has the homerun speed and change-of-direction to make noise this season.     We liked Reagan coming into the season, and we obviously like Evans, but we've still been surprised at how heavily they've relied on the sophomore back. Evans went over 180 yards on 21 carries with three touchdowns on Friday as Reagan bullied a good Reidsville team. Evans is on pace for nearly 250 carries, 1,800 yards, and 20 touchdowns in the regular season alone this season.     I think there's a case for McPhatter being the most exciting player in the state. Princeton has played three close games this season and McPhatter has been in the middle of all of them. What did he do on Friday? How about 385 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, he also picked off two passes in a 50-34 win over Seaforth.     Bauman went from an afterthought on a pass-heavy offense to the focal point of a balanced attack for West Carteret and has been key in some tight games. He ran for 176 yards and two touchdowns while catching the game-winning touchdown pass in a crazy 36-35 win over North Brunswick.     Maiden's offense has become balanced and explosive, and Reed's ability on the outside has a lot to do with that. He went over 100 yards for the second time this season and scored three times on just five catches. His speed allows Maiden to stretch the field and opens up room for the running game.
