As Week 3 approaches and a new slate of games takes place tomorrow, I wanted to take a minute to celebrate some of the pass-catchers who had tremendous success in Week 2. I've got 7 athletes that balled out, stretching the field and playing a key role on their team's offense. Keep an eye out for these athletes going forward!

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1666400' first='Kaiden' last='Farris'], 5'7" 155 lbs, Alden-Conger 2027

6 Receptions, 131 Yards, 1 TD

I have been extremely impressed with both ACGE and Farris through the first two weeks of the season. Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons is 2-0, and Farris has been elite in both games. He's a shifty wideout with great hands, and like most standout 9-man athletes, Farris is a successful two-way starter. I'm going to have to pay extra attention to the 9-man scene this season, there looks to be a lot of talent!

WR: Talan Lewison, 5'11" 155 lbs, LeRoy-Ostradner/Lyle-Pacelli 2026

6 Receptions, 102 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD, 3 Rushes, 22 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD

Another stud from a powerhouse out-state program, Lewison was able to do everything for the LOPP offense last Friday night. If you compound his offensive stats with what he was able to contribute on defense and special teams, you have a talented under-the-radar senior athlete who you can play at a variety of positions. LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle Pacelli is 1-1, but to me is a competitive 9-man squad that could make a deep playoff run, especially with the success Lewison has been having.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1666356' first='Isaac' last='Fredin'], 5'9" 175 lbs, Springfield 2026

9 Receptions, 101 Yards, 4 TDs

I'm not quite sure how Springfield manages to be so good at everything year after year, but they're 2-0, and [player_tooltip player_id='1666356' first='Isaac' last='Fredin'] had one of the best wideout performances of the year so far. Managing to find the endzone on four separate occasions is wild; managing to do it on 9 receptions is even more impressive. Fredin was an All-District and All-Area team member a year ago, and I can only see him repeating those awards after such a strong two weeks.

WR: Brayden Becker, 6'1" 180 lbs, Eden Valley-Watkins 2026

11 Receptions, 204 Yards, 3 TDs

My personal pick for wide receiver performance of the week is Brayden Becker out of the small town school, Eden Valley-Watkins. They had one of the best games of the week in a 37-30 barnburner loss to state tournament regular Minneota, and the stat line speaks for itself. He also brought down an interception and 5 tackles on defense. Becker is going to be a steal for some college next fall.

WR: Max Durgin, 6' 180 lbs, Rochester Mayo 2026

8 Receptions, 142 Yards, 2 TDs

Mayo may be 0-2 so far, but they've played two solid teams, and Max Durgin had a career game against perennial powerhouse St. Thomas Academy. A two-way starter who does it all for Mayo, Durgin also tallied 11 tackles as a safety. When you turn on the game tape, you can see his standout athleticism and excellent ball tracking, clear as day. He's a crisp route runner who would make a sick addition to many MIAC offenses.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1528749' first='James' last='Kopfmann'], 6' 165 lbs, Chanhassen 2026

6 Receptions, 99 Yards, 1 TD

Chanhassne is good again, very good. Coming off a 65-0 win over Burnsville in Week 2, Chanhassen is 2-0 and looking like a real contender in 5A. This, of course, is in no small part due to how their WR1 [player_tooltip player_id='1528749' first='James' last='Kopfmann'] has been playing. Back-to-back 80+ yard games, with a TD in each, while averaging an impressive 18.3 YPR, only paint part of the picture. He's got legit speed and needs more attention on him throughout his senior season.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1633442' first='Carter' last='Zollar'], 6'3" 205 lbs, Stillwater 2027

6 Receptions, 107 Yards, 3 TDs

Zollar had a breakout season last year, so it was only a matter of time before he made his presence felt on the stat sheet again this season. He led the Ponies receiving core in nearly every measurable statistic last week, and had an impressive streak of TDs where he scored three TDs in a row through the late second and early 3rd quarter. Zollar is a true WR1 who is garnering big-time college attention, and if the rest of his junior year is as explosive as the first quarter of it has been, he'll land some big-time offers.
