CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The North Scott football team was at less than full strength when traveling here to face Cedar Rapids Washington on Thursday night. No matter. The Lancers pulled away for a 38-16 victory in the matchup of Class 4A hopefuls.

With guys missing from the North Scott lineup in a Week 2 matchup at Cedar Rapids Washington, Green stepped up at quarterback. He's made himself at home in the position. He completed 8 of 11 passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. That was the sidebar the damage he caused with his legs, which helped him pile up 159 yards and a score on 17 carries. While the position could be a possibility for Green, the main takeaways were his willingness to do whatever the team needs and his overall skillset. Green is elusive and fast with the ball in his hands. That could work at running back or receiver as well. He runs with a toughness and physicality that would play in the secondary. By the way, he also can kick, drilling a 21-yard field goal in this game. Green gives colleges options when scouting him.

Wagner won't scare many opponents getting off of the bus, but prepare for embarrassment if you take him lightly. Wagner rushed for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a victory against Cedar Rapids Washington in Week 2 of 2025. While Wagner has the speed to get to the edge, he's a nifty runner between the tackles thanks to patience and vision, too. Hiding behind his blockers, he flows with them, finding holes and then hitting the jets. Wagner also is a willing and able blocker, throwing his body into the pile to help open things up for teammates.

North Scott's offensive line made a statement during the team's 38-16 win at Cedar Rapids Washington in Week 2 of the 2025 season. Brenner led that charge with a dominating performance from his right guard spot. Benner was credited with two pancake blocks and impacted the contest well beyond that with the Lancers rushing for 239 yards (6.3 YPC) and three touchdowns. Not to be outdone by his exploits on offense, his work on the defensive line also proved important during the victory. Brenner succeeds on both sides of the trench by operating with physicality and power maximized by good pad level and technical soundness. Still uncommitted, colleges would be wise to monitor Brenner moving forward if they aren't already.

Block was not a familiar name for me when I scouted North Scott against Cedar Rapids Washington in Week 2 of the 2025 season. The first thing you notice is his frame and long arms before picking up on his smooth route running. He chews up a lot of turf with his long strides and challenges defensive backs in multiple ways. It led to three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown in this game. Block also ripped off a long punt return where he showed straight-line speed and the ability to make people miss. Block is an intriguing prospect packed with potential and an arrow pointing up.

Huber stood out for his effectiveness and consistency during an in-person scout when North Scott played at Cedar Rapids Washington in Week 2 of the 2025 season. Coming off of the left edge, Huber gets a good jump off of the snap and shows a variety of ways to beat the block. He wins with power and also gets by with quickness. Huber plays within the framework of the defense, staying disciplined and prioritizing the setting of the edge. With almost two seasons of prep football remaining, Huber is not a finished product, something that should excite scouts on the next level.

Gronewold first stood out to me when watching him compete at the Back2Ballin 7-on-7 tournament this spring in Cedar Falls. He looked capable of impacting the action on both sides of the ball. When seeing him again during Week 2 of the 2025 season against Cedar Rapids Washington, Gronewold shined as a versatile member of the North Scott secondary. He ranked among the team's leading tacklers in the contest, recording four solo stops, and adding a tackle for loss. Groneweld is a long-limbed athlete that can run and jump. In this game, he looked comfortable covering the slot and supporting the run. Colleges would be wise to start keeping tabs on Gronewold if they aren't already.
