Perkins-Tryon was ready to get back on the field after losing a rivalry game to Cushing last week. They took those week two frustrations out on visiting Webster Thursday night. The Demons rolled to a 70-18 win. The offense could not be stopped as senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] had a terrific performance on the ground. He finished with three touchdowns rushing and also had a pick six on defense and returned a kick for his fifth touchdown on the night. The Demons needed a big bounce back win to wrap up non-district play. Next week, they open their district slate against the preseason favorite to capture the district crown with a road trip to Sulphur. Below, we take a look at five standouts from Thursday night's win. Also, check out the full game highlights on our YouTube channel at the link below.

[player_tooltip player_id='1708787' first='Beau' last='Gravitt'] - Senior Quarterback

Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1708787' first='Beau' last='Gravitt'] was in control of the Demon offense and this was simply a night where whatever Perkins-Tryon wanted to do offensively, they were going to be able to do it. Gravitt wasn't asked to do much in the passing game although he had a good night throwing the ball. We're looking forward to seeing him in another setting where he has to push the ball downfield and rely more on his arm. But Gravitt was also able to run a little bit and accounted for a few touchdowns in the win. They'll definitely need his A-game next week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1829485' first='Ethan' last='Anderson'] - Senior Tight End/Defensive Lineman

In our opinion, senior [player_tooltip player_id='1829485' first='Ethan' last='Anderson'] was one of the top two-way players for the Demons and he also had an impact in special teams. Early in the game, the Demons blocked a Webster punt and Anderson recovered it and dragged countless defenders (and teammates) roughly five yards before finally being brought down. Anderson also showcased that physical play on offense as the ultimate safety blanket in the passing game at tight end. Anderson is a big and physical presence for the Demons on both sides of the ball and he now has some momentum going for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1829569' first='Jerett' last='Gibson'] - Sophomore Athlete

[player_tooltip player_id='1829569' first='Jerett' last='Gibson'] is the first of two sophomores that caught our attention on Thursday night. Gibson played the role of a utility player on the Demon offense and also had plenty of plays on the defensive side of the ball. Gibson scored on a short touchdown run early in the game and was in on play after play while lining up at linebacker or closer to the line of scrimmage. Gibson also looks like he could very well be the next Perkins-Tryon quarterback after Gravitt graduates. He definitely impressed with his athleticism and brings a lot of versatility to the table.

[player_tooltip player_id='1838686' first='Westin' last='Atkinson'] - Sophomore Wide Receiver/Defensive Back

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1838686' first='Westin' last='Atkinson'] also impressed us and he did it on both sides of the ball. Atkinson had a strong performance as a wide receiver in the Demon offense, although it was very clear from the start that Perkins-Tryon would be able to do just about whatever they wanted to in the run game. Atkinson also made some plays on the defensive side of the ball in the secondary. He got a lot of reps on Thursday night and similar to Gibson, it was a chance to see the future of the Demons moving forward and Atkinson is going to be a two-way player to remember.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] - Senior Running Back

We came into Thursday's game excited to see what senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] could do in person. He lived up to the hype. Atkinson ran for three touchdowns, took an interception back for another score and had a kick return for his fifth touchdown on the night. We don't know what Atkinson finished with in all purpose yards but it made up the majority of Perkins-Tryon's output. There's no doubt that Atkinson is one of the better running backs in Class 3A after seeing him on film and now in person. The Demons will need that if they are going to take down Sulphur.
