North Crowley vs Desoto: Standout Performances

Two of the premier programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area squared off in a thriller Friday night. North Crowley came in riding high off a Week 1 win over Lancaster, while DeSoto looked to rebound from their trip to Georgia where they fell to Creekview 70-28. In a back-and-forth battle loaded with future Division I talent, North Crowley edged the Eagles 37-36 to remain undefeated.   North Crowley Standouts    Harris showed tremendous poise, keeping the Panthers' offense composed against DeSoto's pressure. With a quick release and the ability to deliver strikes under duress, he threw a touchdown pass and extended key drives that ultimately led to the win. His command of the huddle was on full display in the second half.     One of the breakout stars of the night, Ingram exploded for 204 rushing yards and 2 TDs. He showcased elite vision, quickness, and the ability to change direction without losing speed. Ingram's combination of power and agility makes him one of the top young backs in Texas. Already holding offers from Ole Miss, SMU, Texas State, Arizona, Arkansas State, UTEP, and Tulsa, his recruiting stock will continue to soar.     Mays continues to prove he's among the nation's best in the 2028 class. With elite hands, body control, and a large catch radius, he made multiple clutch grabs to extend Panther drives. He had a head top grab in the back of the end zone that was called incomplete but he climbed the ladder to haul it even though he was double covered. His weekend was capped with an offer from USC.     Houston came up huge with a game-changing 4th-quarter interception to stall a DeSoto drive. Though his return TD was nullified by penalty, he flashed speed, instincts, and open-field running ability. He recently earned an offer from Kansas.     Shaw stepped up when it mattered most, closing the game out on the ground. North Crowley turned to him in short-yardage and goal-line situations, and he delivered with power, patience, and strong pad level. Shaw was the workhorse on the Panthers final drive.His ability to read blocks and finish runs helped seal the Panthers' win. At 6'1, 210 lbs, Shaw brings valuable versatility to the offense.     Fleming was a dominant presence up front. Physical at the point of attack with a stiff punch, he consistently won his matchups and helped pave the way for North Crowley's explosive ground game. His balance and nastiness in the trenches set the tone, allowing the Panthers' backs to find room all night.     Mitchell was all over the field defensively, recording 6 tackles, 1 TFL, and a fumble recovery. At 6'2, 215 lbs, he flows to the ball with speed, plays under control, and delivers heavy contact. Coming off a 136-tackle junior season, he continues to display that he is highly productive and an instinctive linebacker. Mitchell holds an offer from East Central Oklahoma University, and more interest should follow as his senior year progresses    Desoto Eagles    Summers showcased his dual-threat skill set, keeping North Crowley off balance with his ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground. He threw with touch and accuracy, particularly on the deep ball, while also using his athleticism to extend plays.     Baker proved why he's one of the most talented rushers in the state of Texas. With elite burst, quick cuts, and vision, he kept the chains moving. Baker even lined up at QB to show his versatility and he completed several big time throws. He's already has double-digit offers, including Pittsburgh, Auburn, UTEP, Minnesota, SMU, and TCU. Expect him to carry the load and reach the 1,000 mark this season.     Edmonson continues to emerge as a reliable weapon in the DeSoto passing attack. A clean route runner who has quickness and burst off the line, he combines a lean, athletic frame with strong hands and the ability to track the ball in flight, making him difficult to cover. His body control stood out on a big back-shoulder touchdown grab, one of the highlight plays of the night. Expect his touches to increase as the season progresses. With offers from UTPB, Washburn, and New Mexico State, more schools should join the race soon.       At 6'4, 300 lbs, Redmond was a force up front. He showcased versatility lining up inside and on the edge, disrupting plays with quick get-off and powerful hands. With offers from Syracuse, USC, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Baylor, and more, he's firmly on the radar as one of the state's top defensive linemen.
