The Class of 2029 rankings have been updated, and there are a few players that I've had a chance to get a look at so far in the first half of the season. Todd Haldis is the one who handles these rankings. My comments aren't directed at where they are ranked. They're more geared to my impression of them while watching them play in a couple of games, either this season or before coming into high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1594475' first='Jalen' last='Wallace'] | St. John's College | Defensive Back

Wallace holds down the No. 2 overall spot in the rankings. He's a freshman getting a ton of time on one of the top teams in the Northeast. This year's St. John's College team is loaded with talent on both sides of the football. He was a UA All-American at the youth football level, so he was no stranger to high-level competition. With that being said, playing for St. John's College is a whole different beas,t and he's earned his way onto the field early. Look for the offers to start coming in this offseason. Wallace is long, rangy, and fast.

[player_tooltip player_id='264860' first='DJ' last='Butler'] | St. John's College | Linebacker | 6-1 | 195

I had an opportunity to see Butler in late August, and you wouldn't have known he was only a freshman. He was very active during a win against Downingtown West. It'll be interesting to see how his body eventually fills out in the next couple of years. Butler is currently No. 4.

[player_tooltip player_id='1894673' first='Paul' last='Alston'] | Good Counsel | Running Back | 5-9 | 185

I just had an opportunity to see Alston play against the No. 1 team in Pennsylvania over the weekend: St. Joe's Prep. Despite the loss, Alston was able to break off a few runs of 8-plus yards against a stingy Hawks defense. He's not the starter, but he's certainly going to get his share of carries throughout the season. I'm impressed with his quickness out of the gate and his ability to turn the corner. His time is coming. Alson is currently No. 7.

[player_tooltip player_id='987760' first='Richard' last='Allen'] | Counsel | Defensive Back | 5-11 | 165

Allen was able to get at least one pass deflection against St. Joe's Prep this past weekend. I think he'll be able to get more reps in as the season progresses. He's currently No. 15.

[player_tooltip player_id='1593490' first='Kaden' last='Coleman-Bennett'] | Running Back | 5-8 | 175

Coleman-Bennett has some of the best potential out of any skill player on this list. Currently rated No. 18, he came into this season as one of the more talked-about youth football players in the DMV area. He played for Johnson Middle School, a very talented and well-run program out of Washington, D.C.

[player_tooltip player_id='1893260' first='Ryan' last='Williams'] | Quarterback | 6-3 | 160

Williams, ranked No. 33, is another product out of Johnson Middle School. Keep his name stored in your mind. He should be ready to take flight when his time comes.
