It was homecoming for the Kenton Wildcats faithful and a beautiful night for football. While Kenton made some plays early to keep themselves in the game, Bath would start to pull away late in the second quarter and into the second half for a 48-6 win over Kenton. There were several players on both teams that caught my eye. So let's take a look.

Rader was a one-man wrecking crew all night long for the Wildcats. He had at least 2 sacks on the evening and made several plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. He has the size and strength to overwhelm opposing blockers. At the point of attack he's able to stand blockers up and then shows the upper body strength and violent hands to shed and pursue. He also possesses good bend and change of direction traits to pursue and make plays. He's getting interest from Ashland and Ohio University.

Welsch has broken many of the passing records for the Bath football program. Watching him operate last night it was easy to see why. Welsch is the perfect blend of accuracy, decision making, and getting the ball out quickly to make the Wildcats Air Raid offense go. He does a great job of spreading the ball around. Zach has the athleticism and pocket awareness to avoid the rush. He can make yards on the ground when they're there.

Davenport was another player on that Bath defensive front who had a strong game. LJ has great length that he uses well. He does a great job of long arming blockers to gain leverage and then sheds to pursue and make plays. He did a great job of pursing on plays like wide receiver screens and plays that were meant to stretch the field horizontally. Davenport lined up as a defensive end for the Wildcats, but I like him as a rush tackle at the next level. His size and athleticism will play up on the inside. Davenport holds an offer from Ohio Dominican.

Markley is a big target on the outside of Bath's offense. He has good feet and gets strong releases. Logan has great length and is a natural hands catcher who provides a large catch radius for his quarterback. With the ball in his hands Markley shows off a good burst and is sudden his ability to stop and go and keep defenders off balance. At the next level I like Markley as a possession receiver who can consistently get open and keep the chains moving.

Hale is a do it all running back. He's an impact maker in both the run and pass games. In the ground game he's an explosive and shifty runner. He possesses great contact balance for a small back. It frequently required more than one defender to get him down as he would take multiple hits while staying on his feet and maintaining leg drive. In the pass game they will split him out into the slot position where he runs strong routes and has great hands. Hale is a really versatile and productive playmaker.

Clark is another talented weapon for the Wildcats offense. At 6'2 185 pounds, Clark is another big target. He did a good job of using his route running to create separation and get open for his quarterback. He was able to get loose and make a few chunk plays.

Play quarterback as a freshman is hard in any instance. Just making sure your team is lined up correctly and getting the pre-snap operations of the offensive executed is a lot. Once Gammon had the ball in his hands, he did a great job of knowing where he wanted to go with the ball and getting it out quickly. He never looked rushed or like the moment was too big for him. As a thrower he can really spin it. On the in breaking timing routes the ball was mostly on time and on the mark with zip. Xavier was also not afraid to tuck it and run when there wasn't anything there and showed the ability to take hits and deliver blows and get right back up. I'm really excited to see what the future holds for this young Quarterback.

Wright played both sides of the ball for Kenton. Where I really liked him was on the defensive side of the ball where he lined up at defensive end. He showed a good burst and had active hands that he used get free from the opposing offensive tackles. He was able to get pretty consistent pressure on passing downs.

Perkins was a frequent target of Gammon. He has a long and slender build. In the open field Perkins was elusive with the ball in his hands showing the ability to make guys miss in space.

Hommel was a playmaker for Kenton both as a receiver and as a returner in the kickoff game. I really liked his blend of athleticism and toughness. He ran strong routes and was able to make catches in traffic. When he got the ball in his hands, he was a strong runner who was tough to bring down.
