Butler’s Film Study: Georgia HS Football’s Mid-Season Standouts

Since we are at the mid-way point for the regular season for most if not all teams in the state, it's a good time to point out some of the 6 players that have really stood out to me so far! He is honestly one of the best in the Nation in his class as a signal caller. He's an ultra-talented and God-gifted talent that has an ultra-high IQ and skillset that will translate to the college level. Yes, Baxter is just a freshman but if you know talent, you could see these qualities while Baxter was an 8th grader. Baxter is a leader and a fantastic quarterback in the Peach State. Now, that's impressive! The freshman phenom is one of the Nation's best quarterbacks and it's showing now. Parker has gotten in there and led his team showcasing mature leadership and strong game play. He's playing with unbelievable poise, maturity, grit, skill and the will to simply win. The rest of the season is ahead of Parker, and he expects to add to this impressive and current total. Ruban is a tremendous talent who can catch, run routes and play with both finesse and physicality. Ruban has been a major target for his team so far and at the 6A level, Ruban is the receiving yards leader with 520 yards! This comes to no surprise to me after covering Woods out of middle school and it was just a matter of time before he started dominating at the varsity level. Woods is currently at the state's top for passing yards and he's got 1668 passing so far with a lot of football to be played. He's making unbelievable plays for his team this year so far and he's only going to continue his development as a great signal caller in the state of Georgia. He will be a household name. His impressive game play and his mismatch height at 6'5 has been a major problem for opponents this year. Havyn recently received an offer from Georgia Tech. There is a lot of football to be played, so you can expect a tremendous season from Green.
