Becker Bolts Over 4A Rival Hutchinson 42-7: Recap
BECKER-- We took our game coverage and scouting talents over to Becker on Friday night to watch a continued rivalry in 4A that they have had with Hutchinson for years. This was I believe the second or third time I have covered this matchup but it was my first time seeing the renovations of Dwight Lundeen Stadium, which were spectacular to see up close. I missed out on the "Best Pork Chops in Sherburne County" however, we got plenty of game coverage coming to in the next couple of days on this match as we start with our recap, and then break down my "Big Dogs of the Game from each opponent.
1st Quarter
Becker
It was 2027 running back Isiah Boyer that got down the field first for the Becker Bulldogs. This was a 39-yard rushing touchdown, but what impressed me most was close to around 30 of those yards were yards after contact as he showed off his power he has in his lower body to get the 2024 4A State Champions the lead at the end of the first quarter. 2 point conversion, no good.

2nd Quarter
Becker
The Becker defense was next to shine against the Hutchinson Tigers, as 2027 linebacker Cody Deters recovered the botched snap by Hutch in their own end zone for the Bulldogs first defensive touchdown of Friday evening. 2-point conversion was good on their second touchdown drive

After 2027 cornerback RJ Houle got an interception off the Hutchinson offense, the Bulldogs found themselves with excellent field position to line up for the third touchdown of the evening in Week 2. In the end it was senior captain Nathan Weiss punching in the short rushing touchdown for Becker. I also wanted to shoot out 2027 offensive guard Brayden Weyer on that particular touchdown, as he was the one that paved the way on that touchdown with his sound pad-level and big finish which was intriguing at the second level for his size.

3rd Quarter
Becker
Becker certainly did not pump the brakes on thier 4A rival Hutchinson to start the second half. Yet again, it was 2027 cornerback RJ Houle who took his kickoff return for a touchdown for 80-yards basically untouched from what I could grasp from the sidelines. This gave the Bulldogs a four touchdown window on Hutchinson to start the 3rd quarter.

With just under 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the Bulldogs struck again for a touchdown which for the first time on Friday night, it got set up in the passing game. 2027 quarterback

threw a dart downfield for 34 yards to 2026 wide receiver Cayden Goodell which set the Bulldogs up for their senior captain Nathan Weiss to punch it in for a 7-yard rushing touchdown to make it a five touchdown advantage, is which is one the most lopsided games I have covered with this rivalry.

Hutchinson
It took the Tigers until about 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter to get a touchdown on the board as it was their most successful offensive drive of the evening. One of the bright spots on both sides of the ball, was 2026 fullback Jack Maiers who punched in from 1-yard out to get Hutchinson on the scoreboard. 2 point try no good

Fourth Quarter
Becker
Becker got another takeaway on special teams in the fourth quarter which was an impressive effort for their special teams unit last Friday evening. After again setting up with good field positon, the Bulldogs were able to get there second touchdown on the evening from 2027 running back Isiah Boyer which would be the final scoring drive in this one, as the Bulldogs move to 1-1 and the Tigers moved to 0-2.
