2029 MD/DC/DE Rankings: 6-10 Breakdown

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With my first 2029 MD/DC/DE rankings dropping yesterday I take a more in-depth look at the the rest of the top 10. He will easily bulk up to 225+ over the years and pass the eye test easily. At MLB, he has nice overall athleticism. Quick to react, fast to the ball and can cover ground. Desmond also has the physicality in his game to be a top prospect. He comes down hill, can take on blockers and will light up ball carriers on contact. Showing a high football IQ, he processes and identifies plays quickly allowing him to get the his spots to make the play. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Desmond currently has two offers from Maryland, and picking up one from USF today. With breakout games against Columbus (OH) and Middletown (DE), he showed why he is a star RB in the making. In the Middletown game he had 75yds and 2 rushing TDs on 6.3 ypc. For the year he's totaled 194 rushing yds. 3 TDs on a strong 5.2 ypc. He's got a nice compact build with a strong lower half. Showing nice vision, patience &amp; burst the LOS to hit the hole and get up field. Once in the open field Paul runs hard, with good pad level and keeping his legs churning. Not easy to bring down while also being nimble with good feet and a low center of gravity. He has elite level ball skills. Great a tracking and reading the play/routes, Trey is explosive in his attacking the ball in the air. Showing strong natural hands as well, if he is in the area to make the pick he is coming down with it. Trey shows super twitchy hips, quick to turn and run, able to cover lots of ground with his speed and burst. Versatile as well, he is able to play boundary CB, Nickel, or FS. He can man up in lockdown coverage, staying in the WRs pocket to break up the pass. While also displaying the ability to play off in zone, diagnose what's in-front of him and break on it to make the play.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Trey holds a handful of P4 offers already, and should be a prospect every college is trying to see this spring/summer. Showing a nice muscled up build already, Beck passes the eye test and should continue to do so easily throughout the years. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I got to see Cardell live at practice recently and came away impressed with his bend and burst. With a low powerful stance prior to the snap Cardell sets himself up to explode off the snap with speed &amp; leverage. This allows him to be in position to set up and work the OT multiple ways based on what's available to him. He is strong enough to take on the blocker and either use his power to walk him back and shed or can long arm the OT and set the edge. Cardell can also stay low and bend at the top of his rush to then flatten down the line to get to the ball. He shows excellent hips, able to re-direct, open up and run or win with an out &amp; in move. I also like the motor Cardell plays with. High energy, doesn't give up on plays and can chase down ball carriers and even play in the open field. He plays with that want to in his game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A player that is ready to explode on to the scene and start getting plenty of attention from college coaches. A high level athlete, he is smooth and twitchy. He's got quickness, burst, agility and active feet. Due to that high level athleticism he is also used on as an offensive weapon but I do believe his best spot going forward is at CB.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile DB, Tahkil can play out wide or in the slot. Able to cover crossers and stay in phase with WRs with his quickness. A ball hawk in coverage, he reads passes and put himself in position to get the PBU or interception. Tahkil is a smooth fluid and athletic CB who also plays bigger than his size. Not afraid to throw his body in tackles and play close to the LOS. As he continues to grow and fill out I expect him to only improve.
