Pyatt is the starting the season off with a bang! The 6'2 225-pound commit to Cal had 10 total tackles (4 solo, 6 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 sack. Pyatt has very good athletic ability and it goes in tandem with his very good range across the field. In week 0, he was blitzing a lot off the edge, and was dominate. Pyatt has very good get off speed and block shedding. He uses his elite strength to run through blockers with ease. Very good tackler. He stops the ball carrier instantly. Pyatt had a big 4th down stop as well. QB was in a scramble drill, he ran from his coverage, and sacked the QB instantly. He has very good read and reactionary speed. He can lock up defenders in a zone, blitz the QB, or stop the run. He's the real deal and Cal is getting a good one.

Bordeaux had himself a monster game against Fruita Monument. In his first game he went 12/15 for 237 yards and 5 TDs, 0 INT and 5 carries for 43 yards and 1 touchdown. He has good athletic ability due to his very good speed, good acceleration, and change of direction. Bordeaux has a very quick release. No wasted motion. He has very good touch and power on his throws, and it really shows on his sideline throws. Inside of the pocket, he demonstrates how he's very poised against pressure and looks comfortable. He has good pocket mobility and will evade pressure. One play that really stood out to me was when DJ slipped, stood up, got readjusted and launched a bomb for a touchdown. He demonstrated very good accuracy at all 3 levels especially his deep ball. He is putting Colorado on notice.

Rueschhoff had himself a game! He had 10 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, and a 85-YD FF/FR touchdown throughout 3 quarters. Rueschhoff has very good athletic ability. He uses his very good acceleration to propel himself into the backfield or into this target. He has a quick twitch. On one play, he fooled the offensive line by slowing down his speed into like a walk, then snuck around them for the easy unblocked sack. On his fumble play, he went into the pile of players, ripped the ball from the RB's hands, and returned it. He used his homerun speed ability to keep separation throughout the return. One thing about Cole that has improved this offseason is his change of direction and body movements. He has very controlled body movements, and showed off his shifty feet work while staying square. I'm consistently impressed by his ability to improve and play.

Bustillos started off the season very strong. The 5'11 150-pound defensive end had 5 total tackles (3 solo, 2 assisted), 3 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 QB pressures, and 1 forced fumble. He has good athletic ability due to his good speed, acceleration, and lateral agility. Bustillos starts with a good initial quickness out of his stance engaging with the OL first. Very good hand speed. Bustillos has good get off speed and very good block shedding. He was eating up blocks for breakfast and getting into the backfield. He has a powerful bull rush, paired with very good strength. He has very good competitive toughness, and was playing through the whistle. I'm very excited to see how he continues his high level of play throughout the season.

Fox continues to prove why he's one of the best backs in Colorado. The UConn commit had 6 carries for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns. I very rarely give out elite traits, and he has a lot. He has elite athletic ability due to elite speed, acceleration, change of direction, and elite balance. He is the real deal. He started the game off with a 94 YD touchdown, showing off his home run speed. Fox has very good vision to find the gaps and attack. Looks like he's gliding on the field. Fox makes defenders miss in open space due to his very good juke move. Very good outside and inside running. Fox also proved to be productive in both the pass block game and run blocking game. He led the way for his fellow RB Cromwell, creating an open lane for his teammate. Beyond impressed with this young man's film.
