I recently finished a series on some of the top players in the lower classifications, but amidst that series and our NCHSAA conference previews, we haven't had much coverage of other associations, namely the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA).

Here, I'm going position-by-position to give readers an idea of which private school players to keep an eye out for this season. We started earlier this week on the defensive side of the ball, so let's continue by looking at the edge rushers. Here are five NCISAA edge rushers to know.

It's worth noting that this group is both very young and very talented, there's some projection here, but these guys should be future stars, if they're not stars already.

Galloway had a "down year" in terms of sack numbers as a sophomore, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have elite potential. He's in the middle of a potential move to the inside, simply because he keeps getting bigger. He's never been a guy who relies on pure speed off the edge, preferring to power past offensive linemen with an array of pass-rushing moves and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better run defender on the edge.

Lewis transferred to Providence Day this offseason and that could ultimately help him build his football pedigree. He reclassified to the 2028 class after a season in Washington and one in Charlotte, and enters his junior season as a hybrid edge/interior guy. I think it'll depend on his height as he has the tools to succeed at either position. I can't help but wondering how good he could be with another inch or two and some more reps as a pure outside pass-rusher.

There's a lot of projection here, as Baganley is a raw prospect with serious athletic upside. Alongside his brother, he's versatile and has flashed as a lengthy pass-rusher with explosive qualities. A two-sport athlete, the basketball star has a projectable frame and with the ability to slide inside and stop the run, I really like his potential, especially if he hones his technique.

Selfishly, I'd really love to see what Mohamed could do as a full-time football player. He's been tearing it up in offseason basketball camps and is one of those guys who looks like he could walk on a football field with little practice and have a huge game. With some technical refinements, though, I think he has Power Four potential. A surprisingly strong run-stopper, he's also flashed as a twitchy edge rusher.

Alexander came out of nowhere last year to post a huge season, racking up five sacks in just eight games and earning multiple player of the week nominations. He's a twitchy, lean edge rusher with some explosive qualities and a guy I really want to get out to see in person this season.
