St. Frances Academy's top 10 performers in 42-7 win over Chaminade

St. Frances Academy, ranked as one of the top five teams in the nation, travelled to Florida and defeated Chaminade-Madonna (ranked No. 8 at the time) 42-7. Prep Redzone has the top 10 performers from St. Frances Academy. These are not in order. There were several standout performances that i noticed while watching the game.    Brooks ran eight times for at least 104 yards and a touchdown. His longest run of the night was 40 yards (the touchdown). He also had chunk runs of both 18 and 25 yards. Brooks was dominating and kept the chains moving. The way he accelerates to top speed is very impressive. Once he gets an opening, he's gone. Brooks also ran with a lot of power and broke through arm tackles with ease.     Edwards is a hitting machine out on the football field. I counted at least four tackles, two tackles for a loss, one pass breakup, and multiple pressures for him against Chamindate. He played downhill all game. A couple of his more impressive plays included him shooting the gap to blow up the running back for a 2-yard loss and another one where he tackled a player who caught a pass for a four-yard loss. He showed versatility as a run-stopper and in coverage.     Legree had two receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns. He was a big-play finisher. He caught a 36-yard touchdown right before halftime to extend his team's lead to 28-7. He caught a 25-yard touchdown pass on a wheel route in the third quarter. Legree also had a couple of good special team returns. He was definitely Mr. Versatile.     Unofficially, I have him at 8-of-16 passing for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and six carries for 54 yards and a touchdown. He was a solid dual-threat, using both his arm and legs to keep the St. Frances offense on time. Williams had one of the top plays of the game as he hurdled into the endzone for a score late in the second quarter.     Bing had a pick-six early in the second quarter while the game was still close. Unofficially, I have him with at least three tackles and a pass deflection. His anticipation and range in the secondary shut down Chamindae's seam routes.     Bruke had at least 100-plus rushing yards on the ground. He showed some quickness on a few runs; he bounced to the outside for significant gains. Burke isn't the biggest back, but he gets north-south back and can get those tough yards in between the tackles. He didn't reach the end zone, but he helped wear down the defense.     Unofficially, I have him down for at least four tackles, one tackle for a loss, and two quarterback hurries. He's an explosive pass rusher and collapsed the pocket multiple times. Elee forced hurried throws, including one on a goal-line stand in the third quarter. This game showed that you have to try to put at least two bodies on him to stop him. 1-on-1? It's not going to go well for the opponent.     Myles helped set the tone on defense. I have him with at least one sack, five tackles, two tackles for a loss, and one quarterback hurry, unofficially. His sack came on Chaminade's first series. Myles consistently cleaned up on runs and kept the quarterback uncomfortable with pressure.     Henry put on a top-tier clinic in pass coverage. He had one of the most active nights on defense with at least three pass-breakups, four tackles, and a third-down stop. He was rock solid as a pass defender. He broke up passes on slants, go routes down the sidelines, and in the red zone. Simply put: he shut down half the field. I'm not even sure why they continued to throw to his side despite having success in doing so.     I have Medley, unofficially, with at least three tackles, one sack, and two quarterback hurries. He and Elee are on the same side, which isn't even fair. Medley brought steady pressure off the edge and helped force incompletions on both third and fourth downs.    ED O.B.'S EXTRA POINTS   The MVP, if I were to name one, would be the offensive line of St. Frances. They opened up lanes for [player_tooltip player_id='402007' first='Jaylen' last='Burke'] and [player_tooltip player_id='648230' first='Sa'Nir' last='Brooks'] that enabled them not to be touched until they got to the second level on a few of their runs. St. Frances Academy's defense looks as good as advertised. They are tough.
