Notes: Coming off a forgettable season in 2024 filled with some internal troubles and forfeited games, El Cerrito is looking to bounce back under new leadership and a host of new and returning players on their roster. They are poised for a big season this fall and should have no shortage of team speed and size in the box. Here we will breakdown some of their top players on this roster and provide some insights + analysis.

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1182998' first='Gary' last='Youngblood'], Sr.

The senior wideout and corner is one of the top downfield threats across the bay that no one seems to be aware about. He is a true long strider with a huge catch radius, strong hands and can stretch the field and create separation downfield. A no-brainer next level guy on the outside.

WR/DB Michael Boyer, Jr.

Boyer is one of the fastest players in northern California and can effect the game in all three phases. He is another physical player with the ball in his hands, shows natural ball skills and the ability to make big plays downfield with his speed and short area twitch.

WR/DB Kamari Harris, Jr.

Harris can play either on the outside or in the slot and is a two-way guy for the Gauchos. He is a explosive pass catcher that runs precise routes, shows good short area quickness after the catch and can be a big play guy. Defensively he shows natural ball skills, quick breaking ability and fluid in hips in coverage downfield and should have a huge senior season.

FB/LB Lonzell Taylor, Sr.

Taylor is a bruising back that gets behind his pads, keeps his legs running through contact and is a true power north and south running back that can gain the tough yards inside. He is another player that should be starring on both sides of the ball this week.

OL/DL Andrew Brital, Sr.

Brital is one of, if not the top returning offensive linemen for the Gauchos, and is a true mauler with natural bend, quick feet and good body control in space, especially for his size. He should draw plenty of D3+ interest at the next level and holds some nice upside in college as he continues to grow and develop.

San Ramon Valley Wolves

Notes: San Ramon Valley has been one of the premier programs across northern California for the last 7+ years, and has been a consistent D1/Open NCS playoff team year in and year out, battling it out with the likes of De La Salle and Pittsburg. This is a younger team coming back in 2025 with tons of big game playing experience and is scattered with FBS guys on both sides of the ball. They have a strong pre-season schedule before heading into a gauntlet league slate and should be a name to note late in the playoff picture come Novemeber.

WR Cole Scott, Jr.

Scott is one of the top returning receivers across the NCS and should have a breakout Junior season for the Wolves. He is a diverse route runner with strong hands, tracking abilities and shows he can create separation downfield and make plays after the catch.

DB/WR [player_tooltip player_id='1639978' first='Dietrick' last='Burks'], So.

Burks is one of the top 2028 prospects on the west coast and a very high 3-star prospect. He is a long and rangy player with all the physical tools for the p4 level. He is a long strider, excellent open field tackler and has fluid hips in transition with natural ball skills and plays physical near the LOS. Burks holds tons of upside due to his frame/length and should be a 20+ offer guy by the time it's all said and done.

Edge Jake Ninekirk, So.

Ninekirk is a key piece of this young SRV defense and should breakout in his sophomore year for the Wolves. He has the frame and size that shows excellent growth potential over the next few years and is a physical and versatile player up front that can play anywhere along the defensive line. He is heavy handed, shows reset abilities and a few power rush moves in his toolbox while fluid in space and a good athlete for his size.

OLB/Edge [player_tooltip player_id='1717741' first='Aden' last='Owolabi'], So.

Owolabi is another very high upside prospect with elite length at 6'6" and impressed at multiple stops this off-season on the camp circuit. He is a long and rangy explosive edge rusher with a huge wingspan and has all the measurements you would want in a edge rusher at the FBS level. Another very young player on the team, he should break out in 2025

OL Spencer Reiland, Jr.

Reiland is one of the top '27 offensive line prospects we have in the bay area and should start fielding some offers after his Junior season. He is a true puncher with a nasty finish, good feet and natural bend and shows he can block in space and is versatile at either tackle or guard with the ideal frame and size for the FCS+ level.
