Preseason Preview: Second Year QBs To Look Out for This Fall

We're back with another Preseason Preview!   Today, we're watching some of the talented QBs across the state who are heading into their second seasons this fall. There's a lot to be excited about with these QBs; we think they'll find a ton of success over the next few years.   This group has impressed us a ton this offseason- be sure to check out their film below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1651373' first='Nash' last='Davis'] is a talented passer out of Spain Park that everyone should keep an eye on over the next few seasons.   “It's hard to believe Davis is only a freshman, he's 6'5 205, and has some impressive arm strength he uses to push the ball downfield for huge gains. I'm really impressed with Davis's accuracy and ball placement; he leads his WRs perfectly and does a great job of not putting the ball in harm's way.   It's also impressive watching how well Davis moves around and commands the pocket already. He can avoid pressure and create extra time for himself in the backfield and has the field vision to go through all of his progressions and find and hit the open man.“   Daivs ended his freshman season completing 56/80 passing attempts for 830 yards and 12 touchdowns.   With [player_tooltip player_id='401079' first='Brock' last='Bradley'] playing out his senior year this fall, Davis will have to wait his turn a little while longer. Regardless, we all need to look out for him moving forward- Davis is seriously talented and has a bright future ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1618700' first='Zayden' last='Homann'] is a talented QB transferring into Athens from Yelm, WA.   "At 6'3 180, Homann already has impressive size and arm strength that'll help him a ton moving forward. When it comes to his arm talent, Homann throws with good anticipation, touch, and accuracy downfield- hitting his receivers in stride for some big plays.   Athens already has a great run game established with [player_tooltip player_id='1506566' first='Xavier' last='Edwards'] leading the way. If Homann can come in and produce this fall, Athens will be in great shape offensively."   Check out this clip from Homann below. "Jackson is a smart decision-maker. He gets passes off quickly, takes what defenses give him, and finds ways to consistently take care of the ball and move the chains. Jackson also has the speed to roll out and beat defenses with his legs, making him an every-down threat with the ball.   I'm most impressed with how Jackson performs under pressure. He does a great job navigating the backfield to stay on his feet and deliver impressive throws on the move/with defenders in his face. I'm looking forward to watching Jackson play this fall. He's a seriously talented prospect with a ton to offer at QB."   Jackson made some impressive plays on both sides of the ball last season. "Brown has an impressive arm and can accurately hit targets all over the field. He's quick to process in the pocket and can make high-velocity throws through tight windows to his WRs. I'm equally impressed by his deep passing- he places great touch underneath his throws to deliver some really well-placed passes to targets in stride.   What really separates Brown from other QBs in his class is his speed and ability to create explosive plays on the move. Brown is a threat to turn upfield for huge plays every snap, and has accuracy and arm strength to make some unbelievable throws while on the run. It's difficult for defenses to stop him; he is terrific at evading pressure and makes the most out of every drop-back."   I think we'll see Brown make a big impact on Maplesville's offense in his sophomore year. He's a dynamic player with the ball in his hands that everyone should look out for this fall.     [player_tooltip player_id='1339562' first='Jadan' last='Lowe'] is an up-and-coming QB out of Central who put together some impressive tape from last season.   "Right off the bat, I'm super impressed with Lowe's poise. He stands tall in the pocket, has impressive mechanics, and looks comfortable and confident throwing the ball under pressure. On top of that, Lowe has a really impressive arm that he uses to deliver passes all over the field.   Lowe does a great job leading his receivers and placing the ball only where they can reel it in. He throws with impressive touch, accuracy, and velocity- fitting the ball into tight windows and over the tops of defenses for massive gains. I am super impressed with Lowe's skills as a passer- he can do many things well already, and has plenty more room to grow/develop over the next few years."   There's a lot to like about Lowe's film. He's a talented player people should watch out for moving forward. Take a look at his tape below, you'll see what I mean:
