He's a crafty pass-catcher who can sneak his way open down the field and make plays int he red-zone. During Lee County's 45-7 win over Warner Robins, Blackwell caught three passes for 49 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown came on a turnaround catch in single coverage from 13 yards away. His second came on a play-action pass where he found himself wide open for an easy walk-in touchdown from 32 yards away. He also helped in the passing game, connecting on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Defensively, the playmaking junior made four tackles, picked off one pass in coverage, and returned a fumble 54 yards back for a defensive touchdown. He's tough, gritty, and has no problem with the physical side of the game. He loves contact and is strong enough to consistently play both ways all game long. This sure-handed weapon caught just four passes, but he took them for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He can stretch the field vertically but also showed that he can score from anywhere on the field in the screen and short passing game. He's shifty, elusive, and has a chance to light up the stat sheet this fall. He has a lot of potential as a run-stuffing defender on the defensive line who can be a physical run blocker at tight end. He shows above-average athleticism and already looks like a D1-caliber player.
