Friday Night Lights- 3 Huge Matchups Across the State

We have a FUN day ahead, folks!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":1} --> <h1 class="wp-block-heading"><em>HOOVER (0-1) v SPAIN PARK (1-0)</em></h1> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>To kick things off, we have our first rivalry matchup of the year between Hoover and Spain Park. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hoover might have one of the most talented rosters in the state. They're loaded on the defensive line and secondary, and have plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the ball as well. Yes, they lost last week, but they lost to a perennial powerhouse in IMG Academy, and are not short of talent in the slightest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Spain Park opened up their season with a dominant 48-21 win over Sparkman. I think Spain Park could end up having one of the more explosive passing attacks in the state- they have an experienced quarterback and some talented weapons on the outside. They have a well-balanced offensive attack, led by some experienced seniors. I've been really impressed by their rushing attack over the last year or so; they've consistently carved up defenses on the ground for some huge numbers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Parker has been on an incredible run the last few years and has another roster full of talent this season. Last week, they showed that their passing game is on a whole other level this year, throwing for over 300 yards in a 41-13 win over Ramsay. On the defensive side of the ball, Parker is just as skilled, if not more. They also have some really talented skill players on offense, both out wide and out of the backfield. I don't think last week was a good representation of Moody this season. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball that Oxford will have to navigate around. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Oxford is a really well-rounded team. They have a great run game, explosive WRs, and a talented defensive front that can get after the quarterback and stop the run. Moody will have to find a way to make them one-dimensional early on.
