3A Predictions

3A North Winner?   Morgan Trojans They return key pieces and beautifully blend Veteran leadership with upstart youngsters to give them experience and valuable playing time. They have a new signal caller that saw action last season and ready to take the throne. The receivers are primed and the offensive line is in great shape. They should continue their dominance of 3A North football. 3A North Runner Up?   Grantsville Cowboys They return some weapons on offense and should be able to keep up with the majority of teams in the region. They'll need some enhanced play from the defense, but they are primed to contend this year.   3A North Contender   Logan Grizzlies Logan comes down from 4A classification and have some key returning parts. With the step down in classification, it should help them compete and be a force.   3A North Player of the Year    Randall takes over as the signal caller for Morgan. His experience last year will come in hand as Morgan will look to assert their dominance. He is a passer that has a good delivery and showcased the ability to limit mistakes and turnovers. He moves well within the pocket and has good athleticism to him. He'll move the chains with his legs if he needs to.    Key Players for 3A North    Keele is an exceptional offensive Lineman. One of the best interior Linemen in the state. He has good size, technique, and footwork. He moves well laterally and is light on his feet. He is a strong lineman with good physicality.     Mortensen is an athletic player with good footwork, has the vision and necessary speed to create with the ball in his hands. He is strong at the catch point and is primed to be one of the focal points in the offense this year.     Van Vliet has good size and moves around well. He throws a good deep ball and someone that isn't afraid to sling it around. His velocity is good, and he processes well. His is best as a deep ball passer and will look to improve in the other area's. Huge year is ahead for him.     Favero going down in classification, should do him wonders. He has a good intermediate ball and will get to his second reads. He's a signal caller who processes well and with the drop in classification, should take advantage of his arm and sling the ball all around the field. He potentially has a big year ahead for him     Jensen is a good athlete, who moves well and is a playmaker. He is primed to have a big season and will look to be a focal point and compete for leading targets this year.     Thurston is a two way player who has been used in short area touches where he can create on his own. He'll look to enhance his route tree and become a bigger threat in the receiving room.     Fawson is good athlete who moves well laterally and has good footwork. He does a good job of getting open and making himself an easy target. He'll look to have an enhanced role in the offense.    3A South Winner?   Cedar City Reds The Reds drop from 4A classification and they have some offensive pieces that will be dynamic. With the drop in competition, Cedar City should take over 3A South.   3A South Runner Up?   Manti Templars Manti has returning players at key positions and is primed to make a run. They should have a great season ahead of them. Defensively, they have all the key parts that will win them games. An attacking pass rush, a ball-hawking secondary and the necessary depth.   3A South Contender?   Juab Wasp They return a good bunch and have a tradition of developing and performing well under the Friday night lights. They'll have to compete with some teams returning a lot of experience but they should have a good season.   3A South Player of the Year    Kelling is set up for a huge season with the reclassification. He's done well this offseason at 7's and he's a player that caught the eye on film and in person. He is precise in where he wants the ball to go to, has great processing speed, gets to his third reads, has good ball placement and limits turnovers. He isn't afraid to stress a defense and will test them deep and will air the ball out. He will dot the ball all over the field and has good arm talent. He is a player that will be at the FCS level that can make the jump to a G5 program. There's tons to like about his game.    3A South Key Players    Olsen is an exceptional edge rusher. He has a good bend at the hip, quick off the line and has quick, violent hands that allow him to disengage from his blocks and he uses his quickness and hands to get by his blocker. He is primed for 100+ tackles and 15 sacks. He is fun to watch and a player that will be at the FCS/G5 level.     Pringle is an exceptional defensive back and he moves well, has good hip fluidity, and good cover skills. He showcases good speed and is a defensive back that will make a play on the ball. He isn't afraid to get dirty and support in the run game. Huge year ahead and he is a FCS/G5 caliber player.     Crowley shows good footwork and lateral movement. He does well at creating separation and he has good hands. He's a player that is primed for a huge season.     Parsons has done well this offseason at 7's and will look to carve out a big role this season. He has good footwork, and showcases good speed and has a good short burst.     Taulapapa is an exciting backer. He is a high motor, active player with good instincts. He is quick off the line, has good speed, shows physicality and can disengage his blocks. He has good pursuit, is a player that cleans everything up and is someone that has a knack for finding himself around the ball. He potentially can get 140 tackles and 10 sacks this year. He's an all around exciting backer.    That was our look at 3A.
