2026 WR New Additions: August

We're in the middle of a rankings update that has been heavier on new additions than movement. Accordingly, we have a lot of new players to talk about. Let's get to it. Here are the 2026 WR new additions, all 14 of them.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2026 WR New Additions</h2>    Pinkerton isn't a volume guy (just 38 total receptions in two seasons) but he broke out in 2024 as a deep threat, nearly doubling his yards per reception all the way up to 28 yards per catch as a junior. He has speed to burn and can make people miss after the catch, giving him multiple ways to beat defenses.     Clouatre is a speedy, slippery slot receiver with big-play ability. He's deadly on slot fades and posts and can get behind the defense with pure speed. When he does, he's excellent at keeping up his speed through the catch point and transitioning to a ball-carrier, maximizing his yards after the catch ability.     A two-sport athlete, basketball might be the best of Payne's athletic ventures, but he isn't a bad football player either. He has elite leaping ability and a willingness to be aggressive at the catch point. That led to some truly spectacular catches last season. He's a hands catcher who snatches the ball out of the air rather than being passive and he's flashed some elite ability after the catch.     After two solid years at Sanford, Carter is moving to the Charlotte area to attend Hough, where there is ample opportunity for a guy who excels on deep balls after the Huskies lost three of their top four receivers. He has good size and speed and I'm intrigued to see what kind of impact he can have on an offense that is already one of the better units in the state.     Jones is a strong route-runner who excels at the top of his routes and creates separation before the catch. He has strong hands and the ability to catch most throws in his vicinity. As a senior, I'm interested if he can improve his yards per catch and do just a bit more to get into the end zone as that was an area the Beddingfield offense struggled in last season.     A recent Wake Forest commit, Goldston had a strong summer of camps and goes into the season as one of the top receivers in the Raleigh area. He's operated mostly underneath in the last two seasons, catching 48 passes in each of his two years on varsity. He's one of the bounciest prospects in the state and can absolutely jump out of the stadium, making him an elite threat on 50-50 balls.     To be honest, I went three cycles just assuming we had Manley ranked and we just... didn't. We've since corrected the mistake to include one of the state's top receivers. Despite his size, he operates primarily on the outside with speed to burn and excellent ball skills.
