Here are some players to watch:

At the heart of this offense is senior Ryan Moelter, who led the team in rushing yards, touchdowns, and tackles last fall. A true three-sport athlete (state wrestler and .500 hitter in baseball), Moelter is St. Peter's most complete football player. He returns as the starting running back but will also line up at slot, on the edge, and in Wildcat formations. Tough, instinctive, and explosive, Moelter is the engine for this team.

Moelter starts at strong safety in what the staff calls their "Warrior" position. He rolls into the box as a run support linebacker and can drop into deeper coverage depending on the look. His football IQ, tackling ability, and sideline-to-sideline range make him

Ian Wills, another senior, is a versatile slot receiver who will be used all over the formation. He is expected to take snaps at Z, F, and H back, with the staff committed to designing touches for him. Wills is 6'0”, 180 pounds and brings a blend of length and fluidity that makes him dangerous in space. He will also transition to cornerback this season. The move is strategic, allowing him to match up against longer outside receivers while using his instincts to track the ball and close passing windows. His versatility gives the Saints added flexibility in coverage Wills has drawn interest from regional D3 programs and has a legitimate shot to play at the next level with a strong senior year.

A pair of athletic tackles anchor the offensive line, Kemper Ely and [player_tooltip player_id='1921151' first='Parker' last='Maloney'], who are both returning senior leaders. Ely, a 6'2”, 245-pound right tackle, also stars on defense and is regarded as the top lineman on the roster. A powerful edge presence with heavy hands and a wrestler's leverage, he sets the tone in the run game and is one of the team's emotional leaders. Maloney, a 6'6”, 260-pound left tackle, brings rare size and mobility. A college basketball prospect receiving D2 attention, Maloney's footwork and coordination show up in his ability to reach the edge on pin-pull. With Ely and Maloney manning the bookends, St. Peter has the personnel to get creative in the run game.

Ely and Maloney continue to serve as edge defenders in the four-man front. Both have the power to hold the edge in the run game and the athleticism to collapse the pocket. Ely brings a power-rush style with the kind of strength that wears down opponents. Maloney's length and first-step quickness give him added upside as a pass-rusher.
