Tackling Machines- 5 7A LBs Ready For Huge Senior Seasons

We have so much LB talent here in Alabama! It's only right that we take a look at some of the Tackling Machines across the state.   Today, we're looking towards the 7A, and watching some of our top seniors across the class we predict to have huge seasons this upcoming fall.   As always, make sure you check out their tape below! You won't want to miss out on this group of talent!    [player_tooltip player_id='1622368' first='Devin' last='Pettaway'] is a versatile LB who has dominated all across Mary G. Montgomery's defensive front the last few years.   "Pettaway is dominant at EDGE and completely dominates the line of scrimmage- he plays with impressive speed, bend, and power that completely overwhelms OTs and helps him get into the backfield to make plays. Against the run, Pettaway does an excellent job setting the edge and fighting off multiple blockers to get his hands on the ball carrier- he plays with a ton of intensity and does everything he can to close in and stop the run.   Pettway is just as dominant against the pass- he's a productive pass rusher who generates tons of pressure and can also make some huge plays off-ball out in coverage. I'm seriously impressed with Pettaway's film, and think that a lot of teams will be reaching out soon- he's highly versatile and can hurt offenses in a lot of ways."   Pettaway had a huge season last fall, ending his junior year with 81 total tackles (51 solo, 9 for loss), 3 FF, 2 INTs, 8 PBUs, 5 hurries, and one sack.   A few days back, Pettaway announced he had narrowed down his list to three schools: Tulane, Louisiana, and Jacksonville State. It'll be exciting seeing where he heads next, in the meantime, watch some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='681628' first='Colton' last='Moore'] is an athletic LB making his debut at Thompson this year after a terrific season at Oak Mountain last fall.   "Moore is highly athletic and plays with a ton of speed and physicality- he can make sideline-to-sideline plays and dishes out some massive hits all around the field. Moore is an excellent run defender- he's terrific at reading and reacting after the snap, fills in gaps quickly, and racks up tackles at and behind the line of scrimmage.   Moore is also highly effective as a blitzer- he flies into the backfield to generate pressure/bring down the quarterback. If he's not blitzing, Moore can cover really well, he holds down the middle of the field and doesn't allow for any easy completions."   Moore was incredibly productive all last season, ending his junior year with 96 total tackles (36 solo, 19 for loss), 2 sacks, 14 hurries, and one forced fumble.   Currently, Moore lists offers from Liberty, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, and more. I'm sure more will head his way soon- he's a talented prospect with a ton to offer at the next level.   Check out some of Moore's tape from last season:      [player_tooltip player_id='1128392' first='Zay' last='Hall'] is a hybrid LB out of Hillcrest who's been incredibly reliable for his defense throughout his career.   “Hall is an athletic defender who can seriously hurt offenses in a variety of ways. Hall is dominant against the run- he flies downhill, fills in lanes, and racks up tackles at and behind the line of scrimmage. It's rare to see opposing RBs get into the open field against him. Hall consistently creates huge problems for offenses up front.   Hall is just as effective against the pass; he's a talented blitzer who can provide great coverage all over the field and make plays every down. It's impressive seeing how well-rounded of a defender Hall is, his future at the high school and collegiate level is really bright.”   Last season, Hall recorded 40 tackles (2 for loss), 2 sacks, and one FF in just 7 games.   A week or so back, Hall committed to Alabama! I'm seriously looking forward to watching Hall's career unfold- who doesn't love a hometown hero story?   Look out for Hall this upcoming fall, and make sure you check out some of his tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1645215' first='Walker' last='Turner'] is a dominant LB coming off a great season last fall for Enterprises' defense.   "At 6'2 216, Turner is quick on his feet, plays with great pursuit, and has a high football IQ that allows him to quickly recognize and disrupt plays. Turner is terrific at reading and making plays in pursuit- he takes great angles and has impressive closing speed he uses to rack up plays all around the field.   On top of that, Turner is really effective on passing downs- he constantly blitzes his way into the backfield to generate tons of pressure and has the ball skills out in coverage to track and break up passes as well."   Turner put up some impressive numbers last fall, ending his junior year with 136 total tackles (101 solo, 11 for loss), 6 sacks, 7 hurries, and 4 PBUs.   A week or so back, Turner committed to Samford! He's set up for a huge year this fall, and at the next level for the Bulldogs, it'll be exciting to watch. "Washington is a talented defender who kills offenses with his speed, instincts, and physicality. He's quick on his feet, can cover lots of ground, and has the pursuit and tackling skills to hunt and take down the ball carrier all over the field.   I'm impressed with how versatile of a playmaker Washington is. He's a dominant run defender who can equally impact the pass by blitzing and dropping back into coverage to make plays on the ball. I think he's set for a massive senior season-everyone should look out for him this fall."   Washington ended his junior season with 105 total tackles (70 solo, 6 for loss), 2 sacks, 7 hurries, and one FF.   With how well he's played, Washington has seen his recruitment grow, picking up offers from UT Martin and North Alabama in the last few months.
