PSR Big Camp Series, New Jersey: Linebackers, Volume III

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday, May 10th, 2025 I was welcomed back for the third year in a row to cover&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/ScoutNickP">Coach Nick Pennisi</a>‘s&nbsp;<em>PSR Big Camp Series</em>&nbsp;hosted at Monroe High School in Monroe, New Jersey. As I have come to expect, this event was packed with participation, loaded with talent, and ran extremely well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Different than other events, Pennisi opted to have three different check-in times, based on position groupings. This afforded me the opportunity to get a closer look at many of the prospects in attendance. Below are just some of my notes on the position group mentioned in this article's title.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Be sure to follow me on&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/BrendanScoutsNJ"><strong>Twitter</strong></a>&nbsp;for the latest updates in New Jersey high school football.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We open today with hometown product, [player_tooltip player_id='1693428' first='John' last='Lawless']. Lawless, who attends host facility Monroe High School, was ruthless - dare I say lawless - in pursuit. Proving that he can accelerate when matched up against linebackers, this 2026 graduate closed space extremely well... Taking the short drive up from Jackson Memorial, [player_tooltip player_id='1693429' first='Aidan' last='Chornobeoff'] was a prospect that got down hill very well. In doing so, he profiles as a strong B-gap-to-B-gap, run stuffing defender. I want to see Chornobeoff recover and get back upfield with more ease, however.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Off of the heels of an outstanding season on defense for the Cedar Creek Pirates, I finally got an opportunity to watch [player_tooltip player_id='995371' first='Justus' last='Peyton'] compete live. Peyton showed his athletic prowess in many aspects today. First, I thought Peyton had good hips that allow him to change direction, open, and run. Additionally, he was able to stop, start, and accelerate extremely well, allowing him to drive on the ball when defending. All this said, he is a solid option when it comes to getting to and covering space. Lastly, Peyton showed that he is not shy to mix it up, as I saw him working to be physical when defending routes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Closing out are two out of state prospects, the first being from Hershey, Pennsylvania. In a flash-in-the-pan look I got of Jaesen Donat, from a trail position he got outstanding extension to break up the pass attempt cleanly, without any temptation of pass interference. Still yet to play a single snap of football during his junior season, there is plenty of potential here... Today's prospect that traveled the furthest was [player_tooltip player_id='1611565' first='Noah' last='House']. Coming up from Fort Hill, Maryland, House played with solid pad level, knowing the low man wins, and appeared to be playing behind his pads.
