O'Neill's [player_tooltip player_id='1600215' first='Porter' last='Mathews'] looks ready to breakout this fall after putting out great tape and production as a junior. Porter was the top producer on defense last season with 77 tackles, seven TFLs, four interceptions (two pick-sixes), and three forced fumbles. When you cut on his tape, you see a lengthy safety with next-level measurables at 6'4", 195 pounds with the game speed to make plays from anywhere on the field. He is well-rounded in that he performs well in coverage and has a nose for the football when defending the run. In coverage, Porter possesses the range to cover from sideline to sideline and can provide help over top when defending the deep ball. Mathews' size allows him to be more physical than his opponent at the catch point, resulting in interceptions or batted passes. I was very impressed with his ability to shoot his gaps from the safety position, displaying the explosiveness and pursuit to fly 10-15 yards downhill to make a stop at/behind the line of scrimmage. Mathews will also be a key player on offense where he led the team in receiving as a junior with 14 receptions, 267 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. Excellent small school hidden gem!

Very excited to have more film on McCook's [player_tooltip player_id='1625806' first='Oliver' last='Corbett'] who stands out on a roster with his elite measurables and junior production. The Bison's senior recorded 65 tackles, four TFLs, two sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries last fall. Watching tape, Oliver and his 6'6", 210-pound frame project very well as an edge rusher who can use his length and athleticism to wreak havoc on an offense. Corbett especially excels when he's able to pin his ears back and really go after a QB, displaying a quick first step that helps him fire off the ball and create separation as he collapses the pocket. Oliver also showed that he is able to set the edge against the run, track the ball carrier, and effectively disengage to continue pursuing the football. He can also drop back into coverage to pick up tight ends and running backs out of the backfield, showing his overall versatility as a defender.

Keep a close eye on Seward's [player_tooltip player_id='1573613' first='Sam' last='Sagehorn'], a disruptive defensive back who brings an aggressive mindset to the field. As a junior, Sam recorded 48 tackles, three TFLs, and two interceptions. Right away, the biggest thing that stood out to me about Sam's game was the physicality he plays with, showing no hesitation to jam up receivers at the line of scrimmage or rip away attempts to block him on the perimeter as he steps up to make a stop against the run. Sagehorn also showed good discipline in coverage, with his ability to keep an eye on the QB while staying in the opposing receiver's hip pocket throughout the route and knowing when to play his hands to disrupt the catch. Sam is a good tackler, especially in open space, displaying good technique and power to make sure his opponents go down on contact. Good footwork and loose hips. I can see Sam at CB or even safety at the next level, given his well-rounded game.

Scotus Central Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1742869' first='Greyson' last='Scott'] is a prospect who recently came up on my radar, and I'm looking forward to seeing more tape of this fall. Scott is a senior defensive lineman with a solid frame at 6'4" and 240 pounds with room to continue packing on some mass. One thing that stands out immediately about Greyson is his versatility along the defensive line, showing he can play defensive end or anywhere along the interior. He knows how to attack and plug in gaps along the interior, crashing the pocket and creating opportunities for his teammates to make plays. Scott also demonstrated his ability to track the ball effectively when engaged with blockers and use his length to reach for the ball carrier to make the stop. Very good mobility and lateral quickness make him tough to pin down in the trenches for long. Definitely someone to keep monitoring this fall.

Finishing the feature off with a very intriguing small-school prospect with the tools around him to have a breakout season! Superior's [player_tooltip player_id='1742870' first='Lincoln' last='Sander'] was the starting QB for the Wildcats and was effective through the air and on the ground. Sander ended his season with 599 passing yards, 485 rushing yards, four passing touchdowns, and five rushing touchdowns. There is limited tape from Lincoln's junior season, but in the clips available, I saw a QB with the mobility to escape the pass rush and extend plays with his legs as he works through his progression. He also has a good feel for when to tuck the ball and take off with it himself. There are still some raw areas to Lincoln's game, but with an offseason of development and great weapons around him, this could be when we see him put it all together.
