SEP's [player_tooltip player_id='1687016' first='Chase' last='Robinson'] has been an enormous riser this offseason with growing interest from college programs and a strong camp cycle. Chase stands out immediately with his 6'5", 240-pound frame and his ability to move very well at his size. He fires out of his stance with great explosiveness while using his lengthy reach to extend and create separation from blockers. Once Chase is engaged, he has the strength in his upper body and leg drive to move blockers off the ball. Robinson has already received his first D1 offer from St. Thomas and will likely add a few more as he takes on a bigger role on the Rams' defensive line.

Nevada's [player_tooltip player_id='1242280' first='John' last='Nelson'] is an interesting prospect who I believe possesses major riser potential this season. Nelson flashed his ability to apply pressure in the trenches with 27.5 tackles, eight TFLs, three sacks, and two fumble recoveries. At 6'6", 210 pounds, John is a towering edge with a quick get off and the ability to convert his speed to power with a strong initial jab. He tracks and pursues the ball well, thanks to a tireless motor that keeps him running through the whistle. John earned his first football offer from Upper Iowa last month and has also emerged as a basketball prospect with growing interest on the hardwood. Good bend and speed when rushing the edge. Depending on how John continues to fill his frame, I could see him playing at defensive end or OLB/EDGE rusher at the next level.

The Valley Tigers return a solid group of starters from last year's squad, including [player_tooltip player_id='1241401' first='Alonzo' last='Jimenez'], who will be a key run defender. As a junior, Alonzo recorded 30 tackles, three TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. Alonzo plays the 1-2 techniques very well, where he has proven effective as a two-gap defender who can occupy space and plug up the A and B gaps to shut down the interior run game. He's surprisingly twitchy, which is evident in a few reps where he was able to fire off the ball and split the double team before they could fully engage. Powerful base and leg drive enable him to force blockers from their spot. Jimenez plays with heavy hands that land accurately when punching at his opponent, and knows how to win the inside hands leverage battle. Alonzo has received offers from Simpson College, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Buena Vista University, and Central College so far. Buy stock now!

Ankeny Centennial's [player_tooltip player_id='1227598' first='Houston' last='Luce'] is a player who has been high on our radar since entering the high school ranks and is really starting to show the potential we saw early. Playing defensive tackle, Houston posted solid production as a junior with 20 tackles, four TFLs, and two sacks, but his impact went deeper than the stat sheet. The part of Luce's game that stood out the most is his brute strength, especially when bull-rushing, where he effortlessly walked back several blockers to spill into the backfield. He's very effective with his hands, using them to jab, swim, and rip his way through blocks with minimal wasted movements. Once he's worked his way into the backfield, Luce is vicious with his pursuit and will keep playing through the whistle. Houston has quite the offer list, including schools like Wisconsin-Platteville, Grand View, Buena Vista, Simpson College, Central College, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Loras College, and Southwest Minnesota State.

Finishing up with another dominant defensive tackle who is a beast at eating up space on the interior line. Liberty's [player_tooltip player_id='1619345' first='Quayshon' last='Harrington-Johnson'] had a solid junior season in which he tallied 31 tackles, eight TFLs, and 2.5 sacks from that interior spot. My biggest takeaway from Quayshon's game was his explosiveness and first step, which showed that he can explode off the ball and be the aggressor at the point of attack. He plays with consistent pad level and takes advantage of his natural leverage to get under blockers when firing. Good footwork and leg drive when engaged, keeping him from giving up ground against his opponents. Quayshon is still flying under the radar on the recruiting circuit, but should gain more traction this season as he steps into a bigger role as a senior.
