A very under-the-radar athlete at one of the smallest public schools in WV, the past few years has been former 2026 Hundred WR [player_tooltip player_id='1605677' first='Colt' last='Sandy']. He's been a two-sport standout for the Hornets before consolidation closed the school after this past school year. Sandy will now be attending Clay-Battelle for his senior year and will bolster their receiver group further if he elects to continue to play football. Sandy also shines on the basketball court, but can play football in college if he chooses to. Size and athleticism should intrigue small colleges with high upside once he develops the details of the position.

Another small school receiver to know this season in Class A is 2026 Wheeling Central WR [player_tooltip player_id='1686621' first='Caleb' last='Golden']. He should see increased touches as a senior for the Knights, and is an underrated piece to their offense. You can align Golden in a variety of spots in their spinner series offense and use him as a gadget-type player. He can run routes out of the slot tight to the line of scrimmage, or you can hit him on reverses and allow his speed to get in space.

2026 Washington ATH/QB [player_tooltip player_id='1665955' first='Kyle' last='Athey'] has patiently waited his turn to be the man at quarterback for the Patriots and will finally have his chance as a senior. After some roster turnover from last season, Athey will be pressed into duty as QB1 this fall after being a versatile athlete and backup the past few years. He's done some good things during 7-on-7s this summer and could surprise some teams this season as a passer. Athey has the athleticism to be a threat with his legs as well, and will need to be accounted for by defenses in that aspect.

A speedy slot receiver to know this season for Parkersburg is 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1227050' first='Hunter' last='Leavitt']. The Big Reds' passing game was up and down last season with some young talent and first-year starters, but keep an eye on Leavitt to break out as a senior after showing flashes as a junior in 2024. Leavitt has the potential to be a dynamic player out of the slot this year with the burst and quickness he flashed last season. He can develop into a safety blanket for his quarterback on short throws and screens that allow him to use his athleticism after the catch.

Mingo Central is hoping to get their passing game back on track in 2025 after a step back last season, and 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='908730' first='Keziah' last='Joplin'] will be a top target for them. Production was light as a junior, given the struggles as a whole in the passing game, but you can see Joplin's potential if they can get him the ball more. Transfer 2027 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1687819' first='Jamere' last='Knuckles'] appears to be the answer in that regard, so keep an eye on Joplin to break out as a senior for the Miners.

An underrated defensive back to know in the 2026 class this season is Independence's [player_tooltip player_id='1692902' first='Kaden' last='Bradbury']. Bradbury plays corner for the Patriots, but looks like a natural fit at safety at the next level. He has good length with quality athleticism could also allow him to play more receiver this year. Bradbury can run step for step with most receivers with length that makes it difficult for quarterbacks to lay the ball over him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137699' first='Xavier' last='Wells'] is ready to have his breakout season for John Marshall as a senior after showing glimpses the past two seasons. They graduated their top target from last season, so increased opportunities should be coming for Wells this year. He's been a very good kick returner for the Monarchs with impressive straight-line speed that gives him the potential to also be a deep threat in the passing game. If Wells has improved his agility and lateral quickness, he can take his game to new levels as a receiver and open up his capability in the route tree.

Poca is expecting 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1127708' first='DJ' last='Combs'] to take a step forward this season as a senior after showing flashes last season before going down with an injury. Combs has playmaking ability out of the slot with the speed and quickness to make plays after the catch as well. He also provides value as a safety on defense and as a returner on special teams, where he made some plays as a junior.

2026 Westside OL [player_tooltip player_id='1692933' first='Logan' last='McNeely'] will need to be a leader on the Renegades' offensive line this season after graduating some talented players from last season's squad. He plays right tackle and has quality 6'2 length with the frame to add significant weight to. McNeely has quality athleticism for his size and saw a lot of pass pro reps last season in their offense to showcase his footwork and ability to block in space on screen passes. He's very under the radar right now as a college prospect, but is deserving of some small college looks this fall.

2026 St. Albans OL [player_tooltip player_id='1529855' first='Lucas' last='Warner'] impressed us in person at a GCOH Exposure Camp earlier this summer and rounds out our Top 250 in this rankings update. He lacks the ideal size that colleges are looking for, but he plays hard and performed well during 1-on-1s at said camp. He's a quality athlete who is often tasked with pulling from his right guard spot in their offense and executes that assignment well. Warner is a name that D3 programs will want to know this season and is worthy of offers from that level.
