[player_tooltip player_id='1691211' first='Brayden' last='Boggs'] is a valuable piece to the Grafton program that many people may not be too familiar with yet. He's an under-the-radar prospect heading into his senior year and provides value on both sides of the ball for the Bearcats as a linebacker on defense and a power back/fullback on offense. We like him at middle linebacker at the next level as he's strong between the tackles in the running game. Boggs does a nice job seeking out inside runners and reads the play well with form tackling once he reaches the ball carrier.

Spring Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='1605767' first='Beau' last='Christopher'] is another underrated linebacker in the 2026 class that colleges need to know for the 2025 season. He's a bit undersized, but was very productive for the Timberwolves as a junior with 47 tackles, including 9 for a loss, which ranked 6th on the team. He's another downhill middle linebacker who flies to the football with bad intentions. Christopher does a great job of tackling through ball carriers and quarterbacks and is a heat-seeking missile at linebacker.

One of the more underrated running backs in West Virginia for the 2026 class is PikeView's [player_tooltip player_id='894894' first='Braydon' last='Mullins']. When healthy, Mullins is a very productive player for the Panthers as he rushed for 650 yards and 7 touchdowns as a junior. Playing at an under-the-radar program in an untraditional offensive scheme may have Mullins off of college radars right now, but he can play at the next level, potentially for a D2 program. If Mullins can stay healthy as a senior and produce for a full season, we expect offers to start coming in from colleges once they get some eyes on him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1316520' first='Jake' last='Roberts'] was a valuable piece to Wahama's undefeated state champion team in 2024 as a linebacker on defense and tight end on offense. His future is likely at linebacker at the next level, where he totaled 78 tackles as a junior last season. Roberts has quality size and is stout between the tackles as a run-stopping middle linebacker. He's a physical player, which is apparent on both sides of the ball as a blocker at tight end and absorbing and fighting through blockers at linebacker.

Philip Barbour's [player_tooltip player_id='1592209' first='Aidan' last='Phillips'] debuts in the 2026 rankings as a Top 10 EDGE prospect after a productive junior season for the Colts. He totaled 58 tackles, 4 TFLS, and 3 sacks in 2024, coming off the edge, and also played traditional defensive end with his hand on the turf as well. Phillips is versatile in that aspect, as you can shade him inside of the tackle and utilize him in run defense. He also lined up at middle linebacker, and is the type of player that you can align all over the front of the defense.

Moorefield fans are hoping to see a full, healthy season from ATH/QB [player_tooltip player_id='1139033' first='Brock' last='Linville'] this season after missing much of his junior season due to injury. That left a limited amount of game film to evaluate, but you can see his upside as an athlete in the three games he could play in. Linville is a quick and speedy option-style quarterback in their system who likely plays slot receiver or safety at the next level. He has some juice with the ball in his hands and should be a dynamic playmaker this fall, who defenses will need to gameplan for.

2026 Wheeling Park DB [player_tooltip player_id='1139032' first='Jed' last='Hunley'] has been a very underrated piece to the Patriots' secondary. Size will limit his college opportunities, but the ability and production are there to warrant small college looks. As a junior, Hunley totaled 41 tackles, 7 passes defended, and 3 interceptions at free safety. He does a nice job patrolling the back end of their defense and can play deep and single-high safety with the speed and quickness to cover ground quickly. Size doesn't prevent him from coming downhill in run support or underneath passes and welcomes contact.

Ripley's to receiver in 2024 was 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1692286' first='Cody' last='Lawrence'], who led the Vikings in receiving yards and touchdowns with 450 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lawrence has good size and athleticism with versatility to line up in the backfield, a role he may see more of as a senior. He has big play potential with the ball in his hands and could have a big season at running back if they elect to play Lawrence there full time.

Athletes like [player_tooltip player_id='1137481' first='Collin' last='Schaffner'] fly under the radar at programs like Martinsburg's, which have a plethora of talent. That's especially true in their skill group, so Schaffner is an unknown at the varsity level heading into his senior year. His JV tape suggests he could produce at a high level at many different programs in the state. What his role is for the Bulldogs as a senior is yet to be determined, at least to our knowledge, but Schaffner has the athleticism to play at the next level and also has a wrestling and track background to utilize as well.

A small school player to know in Class A this season is 2026 Clay-Battelle WR [player_tooltip player_id='1137698' first='Braden' last='Ponceroff']. He produced at quarterback and safety as well last season, but is a natural pass catcher and should primarily play there as a senior. Football comes naturally to Ponceroff with innate playmaking ability and high intelligence, and recognition for the sport. We got to see him compete at Fairmont State's Prospect Camp earlier this summer, and Ponceroff is a must know for D3 programs with the potential of D2 looks.

Another 2026 PikeView running back to know this season is [player_tooltip player_id='894895' first='Peyton' last='Mounts']. He'll be a nice complement to [player_tooltip player_id='894894' first='Braydon' last='Mullins'] in their run-focused system, where he rushed for 650 yards and 6 touchdowns as a junior. Mounts can run hard between the tackles, but also has the speed to hit him on tosses and sweeps to the outside and let him get in space. He does a nice job of making defenders miss and fighting through arm tackles, and is an underrated running back in this class.
