Union High School (Washington) coach Steve Pyne is still relatively new to the state of Washington.

But the five-time Oregon high school championship coach is no stranger to what it takes to win in the Pacific Northwest.

In fact, he's one of the most successful coaches in Oregon state history.

And his Central Catholic (Oregon) rosters have had plenty of recruiting star power over the years.

Pyne knows what it takes to develop into a future college football player, and as the defensive line coach for Team Columbia this year several players stood out to him.

Here's Pyne's thoughts on some of the players who he felt deserved extra recognition after the week-long exhibition event.

DL Makhi Miller, Evergreen (WA), 2025 - Great motor and instincts. His height was probably a factor in ending up at Eastern Oregon. They got a really good one.

OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1655934' first='Ja'Marcus' last='Robinson'], Seton Catholic (WA), 2026 - Quick first step, good hands and hips. Surprisingly agile and fast for his size. Should be an All-State player this coming season.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='914307' first='Bobby' last='Blanchet'], Aloha (OR), 2026 - Excellent route running and above-average catching ability. Very good separation speed and pretty physical.

DB Keona Tam, Wilsonville (OR), 2026 - Undersized, but makes up for it with great technique and toughness. Consistently in the right place.

OL Jackson Liepold, Nelson (OR), 2026 - The ability to play all three positions and be dominant at each. Great leverage, feet and hips. Plays with great passion, definitely a Big Sky prospect.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1700374' first='Tobias' last='Chappell'], Union (WA), 2026 - Proved he belonged on the field against the best players in Oregon and SW Washington. High IQ and instincts. D2 to Big Sky ability.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1112394' first='Geovoney' last='Burks'], Roosevelt (OR), 2026 - Fluid athlete, good speed and size for ILB. Great instincts and nose for the ball.
