And the long list of standouts including some new faces and some familiar faces in new roles and new places.

Here's a look at eight eye-catchers, with a focus on spreading the spotlight to different schools and leaning more toward new names and new developments.

[player_tooltip player_id='469475' first='Jaylan' last='Ash'] — 6-0, 160 WR — Destrehan (2027)

The transfer from Archbishop Rummel racked up highlight real catches for his new school throughout June, providing a promising glimpse of the type of target he can be opposite LSU commit [player_tooltip player_id='212340' first='Jabari' last='Mack'] in a high-powered Wildcats' attack. As always, 7-on-7 action should be kept in its context and not overstated, but Ash possesses intriguing length, ball skills, body control in the air and enough speed to be a threat to every level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1737076' first='Pierson' last='Carmouche'] — DB — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2026)

One of the notable areas of turnover for the Bears this year is replacing a pair of graduated Division-I corners, but the rising senior poised to break into the starting lineup this fall was a constant playmaker during 7-on-7 matchups against other top programs. Carmouche showed great instincts, break and ball skills to rack up deflections and interceptions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581315' first='Lawson' last='Dixon'] — 5-11, 185 WR/ATH — University Lab (2026)

The versatile Cubs athlete and rising senior leader is expected to be a go-to weapon this season for the Division-II Select title hopefuls and has had a strong offseason in preparation — both with his play on the 7-on-7 fields, including his ability to go up and making leaping and contested catches, and with his first offers arriving from Southern Miss and Southeastern Louisiana.

[player_tooltip player_id='1291430' first='Ja'Juan' last='Jackson'] — 6-1, 205 QB — St. James (2028)

The experience gained through being thrust into the starting role out the gates as a freshman are showing for the rising sophomore, who is a confident triggerman at the helm of an explosive passing attack regardless of the setting or opponent. Jackson's strong arm and chemistry with his dynamic cast of weapons make the Wildcats to score from anywhere in the blink of an eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='1737078' first='Floyd' last='Jones'] — 5-10, 175 WR — Edna Karr (2026)

Similar to Carmouche and Catholic (Baton Rouge), Jones is a rising senior among the key reasons for Edna Karr's confidence in a position of notable turnover following 2025 graduations. Jones was electric at times this summer, including both big plays downfield and after the catch. While the Cougars are replacing a trio of Division-I pass-catchers, they have multiple program veterans ready to become bigger focal points alongside talented new additions.

[player_tooltip player_id='740981' first='Brysten' last='Martinez'] — 6-6, 290 OL — East Ascension (2026)

The LSU-committed offensive lineman worked throughout this summer at tight end where the Spartans think his impressive athleticism at his size to go with his powerful blocking can make him even more impactful with the ability to move him around the formation and use him as a pass-catcher. And there were moments where his ability to box out defenders and play the ball in the air made him a challenging cover near the first-down markers or in the end zone.

[player_tooltip player_id='283986' first='Richard' last='Montgomery Jr.'] — 6-0, 195 DB/ATH — Dunham (2026)

Another familiar face who garners a note in a different role, Montgomery has always had comfort playing on both sides of the ball, but stood out primarily in his role in the secondary. But he was a particular focal point on offense during a late-June 7-on-7 session in which [player_tooltip player_id='710974' first='Jarvis' last='Washington'] Jr. was sidelined and Montgomery became a go-to for quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='642719' first='Elijah' last='Haven'], including multiple deep touchdowns and a couple of nice runs after shorter catches.

Trevor Randall Jr. — 5-8, 145 DB — St. Augustine (2028)

The Purple Knights are loaded with returning talent that should be familiar to Prep Redzone Louisiana readers, but a young corner was a new standout during a couple opportunities to see St. Augustine this summer. Randall blanketed opposing receivers, used the sideline well and made well-timed plays on throws his direction, including at least one acrobatic end-zone interception leaning out of bounds.
