Film Study: Section 1-3 2026 LB’s

Standing at 6'1" 215 pounds, he displays a solid build for the LB position. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On tape he is a true LB, but he does show the ability to lineup on the LOS and take on blockers. He has solid block shedding moves and uses his size to his advantage. He has good hands and uses them to his advantage in block shedding reps. He is an exceptional tackler and can move sideline to sideline while tracking plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He was a solid contributor on a dominant Rye team last season. As a RB he displays a quick burst and a solid IQ, with a good understanding of gaps. As a LB where I have him projected mainly, he is a good tackler who displays good hands and a solid IQ. The 6'1″ 205-pound LB should look to gain 10-15 pounds of good weight before reaching the college level.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the football field, he can play on the line as an edge rusher if needed but projects as a LB at the next level. He has a quick first step with an elite burst allowing him to hit the gap immediately. His IQ is elite as he seems to know the opposing play immediately. In this case Smith should look to gain 5-10 pound of good weight to improve his physicality on the line. In his tape, he is a beast who shows his presence on nearly every play. He has exceptional pass rushing moves and excels in lateral movement.
