The week before the fourth of July, we took our scouting talents back to Central Minnesota to a camp we have covered for a handful of years now that has recently been renamed, the Central Minnesota Football Academy MEGA Camp. New this year, this MEGA camp that had over 100 prospects from all over Central Minnesota and as far as Lakeville, we brought the offensive side of the ball! I will admit though even though offense was invited, if you got a chance to watch the DBs in the two days I was there, it was like they were unnivited, as I was really impressed with the DB group that new SJU Corners Coach James Herberg, brought to his new stomping grounds in Collegeville on the St. John's University campus. We unpacked the whole kitchen sink with this one.

I named my selection for Big Dog MVP, the biggest Stockriser, and 18 other top performers that caught my attention in Collegeville during our two day stint at the CMFA MEGA Camp.

Big Dog MVP:

[player_tooltip player_id='1576392' first='Caleb' last='Maddox'], Rocori 2026 Twitter

Caleb was "the most" of a lot of skillsets that we could name from his performance at the CMFA MEGA Camp and it was on both sides of the ball that this 2026 athlete balled out. He took the the title in testing in three of out of the four categories, with a 35.4 inch vertical, 4.50 flat in the 40-yard dash, and a 9'7 in the broad jump, but what jumped out at me most about Caleb was his football. During 1v1s he showed off high level position flexibility as either a WR or cornerback at the next-level. Defensively, Caleb showed off the best ball-tracking ability in the group and easily was the most physical corner in attendance which was shown rep after rep. As a route-runner, Caleb showed off the blend or his speed and twitch to get well-versed route seperation on almost every rep. He also had the soft hands that from any rep I watched in the first two days of camp. Did I mention he only has ONE NSIC offer thus far? Based on me typing once and adding the post below, I will emphaize that Caleb is a hidden gem.

Biggest Stockriser:

Payton Bartos, Little Falls 2026 Twitter

There was a couple prospects I had in mind for my biggest Stockriser, but after evaluating my notebook closely it was evident that Little Falls linebacker Payton Bartos surely was my biggest stockriser from the CMFA MEGA Camp held at St. Johns. The verified 6'2 205 pounder started off his showing on Thursday during testing in which he jumped over 35 inches in his vertical jump at that frame we listed. I couldn't get enough watching this young man's motor for the couple days I spent in Collegeville as he was well-versed with his change of direction in the consistent reps I watched from testing, to Indy, into 1v1s. To top it off why he was my biggest Stockriser, he ended his early afternoon on Friday by showing off his downhill fluidity and showed off the one most textbook tackles I saw in the couple days and all the physicality you want at the linebacker position. I repeat, there is another Central Minnesota hidden gem from the CMFA MEGA Camp, has Payton just got on Twitter, and does not have an offer yet!

Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='1471267' first='Brody' last='Woods'], DL, Rocori 2026 Twitter

Heading to the Rocori hotbed of the University of North Dakota next year, is 2026 defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1471267' first='Brody' last='Woods'] who had himself a sound couple days at the CMFA MEGA Camp. He mixed the long lower body and growing agile movement nicely in the 1v1 reps I watched at SJU. I also grasped the Brody was locking in with his attention to detail, getting even tighter with his angles from the first live rep I watched to the second from coaching. He was certainly more fluid with his inside move than what I saw a good amount of months ago at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. The Fighting Hawks should growing Brody's upside over the next 4-5 years.

Carter Pesta, WR/DB, Sauk Rapids-Rice 2027 Twitter

Carter was certainly a 2027 prospect from the SRR Storm that I felt got better watching his day one to day two at the CMFA MEGA Camp. You could gauge from day one during testing, that this young man has explosive traits to give, he just in my eyes was exploring how to use it. As a defensive back, he showed off the balance with his ball-tracking ability during 1v1s and understood the difference when closing in on deep routes where the ball was and utilizing his on ball physicality the right way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1705401' first='Kaleb' last='Woelfel'], WR/DB, New London-Spicer 2028 Twitter

Kaleb was a 2028 WR that caught my attention right away on day two of the CMFA MEGA Camp out of New London-Spicer. He might be just a young buck, but man myself and the college coaches in attendance were impressed with this young man on day one and especially on day two. He passsed the early eye test and was such an effective route-runner for his age and showed off an impressive twitch when cutting on his routes consistently.

Brayden Suggs, WR/LB, Maple Lake 2027 Twitter

Plenty of new names to know from the CMFA MEGA Camp, including 2027 Brayden Suggs out of Maple Lake who plays wide receiver and linebacker for the Lakers. I liked how coachable this kid was during Indy drills and later into 1v1s, as I felt he relished the information at put it play. He showed off a good size and frame and from rep one to his last rep I watched at wide receiver, he showed off adaptable hands thru the coaching he received.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629862' first='Matthew' last='Babatz'], OL, Buffalo 2027 Twitter

This is now the second live eval I have gotten from Matthew this summer with the first being at SDSU, as he had another great showing at the CMFA MEGA Camp in Collegeville. Matthew I felt even from a few weeks ago, has gotten stronger with his wide base which to just about every defensive linemen he went up against, the 6'1 240 pounder from Buffalo was pretty immovable out of it. He's also moved up a notch with his fluidity that comes with his footwork from my eyes. Matthew also had well-versed technique with his inside hand placement as during Indy drills showed off the power, yet great control. The drive blocking has also turned up a notch from the first live eval to the last one. He surely is a 2027 offensive linemen that I love the ceiling he has just entering his junior year.

Grayson O'Neal, OL, Rocori 2028 Twitter

If you subscribe to PRZ, you might remember Grayson from our first batch of standouts at the 6/2 Minnesota RTB Camp, as he was surely was one my eye-catchers on a couple of our PRZ scouts radar including mine. The verified 6'4 266 pounder, impressed me again during Indy drills, where I thought he has improved his hand technique from early June as he got extension with his hands with a more balanced demeanor. We felt this from the Minnesota Camp on 6/2, but it was verified by other college coaches in attendance too at the CMFA MEGA Camp that this young man could be the next hog Molly from the Spartans with a Division I ceiling.

Issy Springs, OL, Rocori 2028

Another 2028 name from Rocori that caught my attention on a handful of reps on day two was a new name to me which was Izzy Springs. If you want a young man that showed off one of the biggest motors in the OL group, you could see it in Izzy as that wasn't all that caught my attention with his skillsets. I was impressed with how quick he could drive leverage when he had to re-fit his hands. He was one of the better 2028 OL with his pad-level in my eyes. Even as a first look, Issy exceeded expectations during pass-pro reps as again he showed off the drive-blocking ability that is there for the taking for this young man.

[player_tooltip player_id='1698825' first='Ben' last='Neumann'], OL, Sauk Rapids-Rice 2026 Twitter

Some of the quickest firing hands I saw from the 2026 group of offensive linemen, came out of Sauk Rapids-Rice offensive guard [player_tooltip player_id='1698825' first='Ben' last='Neumann']. He showed off a handful of blocks that he took into the next-level during the reps I watched at the CMFA MEGA Camp. The leverage Ben got was very consistent as he went from an offensive linemen that was off my radar to one that was on my radar quickly. The Division III level is starting to pick up with Ben with interest in Mid-July.

[player_tooltip player_id='1634068' first='Zion' last='Davis'], ATH, Lakeville North 2028 Twitter

The farthest traveler we had at the CMFA MEGA Camp came from Lakeville North which was 2028 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1634068' first='Zion' last='Davis']. Zion from my eyes, was in my top-tier for best athletes in attendance and was the definition the more reps, you gave the young man the more he progressed. That was evident in watching Zion as a route-runner, as the growth curve was quick from his first rep to his last rep. He was another pass-catcher that was light on the drops during camp showing off soft hands and growing awareness. Another skillset that was clear to me from watching Zion, is this young man knows where the first down markers are as I hope over the next coming years that he continues to blossom with that skillsets like he did in Collegeville a few weeks back.

Nolan Vanloy, EDGE, Rocori 2027 Twitter

One of our top ranked edge rushers in state of Minnesota in the 2027 class, Nolan Vanloy of Rocori surely showed off the why in the live reps I was able to watch. He had from my eyes the most effective hands I saw amongst edge rushers in all the reps I was able to watch at the CMFA MEGA Camp. His hand speed getting off blocks was a clear-cut problem for offensive tackles to deal with as on several reps reps Nolan was able to get off quickly and get home into the backfield. Although he was having a lot of success, this young man still showed off great coachability as one that I feel turned his stock forward from his live eval in Collegeville.

Elton Sanyeneh, DB, STMA 2027 Twitter

Easily one of my favorite underclassmen defensive backs from the CMFA MEGA Camp was STMA 2027 Elton Sanyeneh. There wasn't a rep that I watched out of Elton that he wasn't in the wide receivers pocket as I felt Elton was one of the most battle-tested cornerbacks I watched in the two days in Collegeville. He was also one that I felt got more poised by the end of day two with his ball-tracking ability which shows the quick upwards growth curve this young man made with his ball skills. If we are talking about the best finisher on the ball, my nod surely goes to Elton as this young man was relentless against the whole wide receiving core, as he had to have won nearly every 1v1 battle.

[player_tooltip player_id='1699129' first='Logan' last='Adams'], WR, Rocori 2028

Another Twitterless prospect that left a promising impact during his 1v1 reps at the CMFA MEGA Camp was 2028 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1699129' first='Logan' last='Adams']. I remember asking the coaches, shocked that this young man is just getting into his sophomore year as the based on the eye test, his frame certainly looked more like a upperclassmen. Logan easily gets my nod for best hands in this 2028 WR group as he caught anything and everything that came his way, didn't matter if the ball was off his line either. Another skillset that popped out when watching Logan was this kid's high topping ability as I saw him do it more than once during 1v1 reps on day two in Collegeville. Yet another hidden gem coming out of Rocori in the 2028 class with no tape yet either, but the live eval was impresive!

Griffin Thompson, DE, New London-Spicer 2026 Twitter

We have another 2026 sleeper from the CMFA MEGA Camp still waiting on his first offer that had a great showing in the live eval, which came from defensive end Griffin Thompson of New London-Spicer. It's not frequent during camps do I pause to find a kid's Twitter handle, but after watching Griffin's live reps it was something I needed to do. He showed off some nasty pass-rush moves, as my favorite one was the club over move he threw at the offensive tackle and got his way easily in the backfield. He was had some of the more versatile pass-rush moves I saw overall in Collegeville for the two days I was in attendance. The 6'4 210 pounder from NLS, is also a 4-star Kohl's kicker/punter but man, I think his best look at the next-level comes in as a defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1652806' first='Evan' last='Hardy'], RB/DB, Sauk Rapids-Rice 2027 Twitter

If you are like me and are into 100-meter track times, you might want to meet [player_tooltip player_id='1652806' first='Evan' last='Hardy'] of Sauk Rapids-Rice who 10.68 100-meter dash for the Storm, and has himself a strong showing at the CMFA MEGA Camp too. He caught my attention for his DB reps I watched, as the technique he displayed caught my eyes on a few occasions. I'll go out and say it, that this DB group might have been the most tech sound group I have watched all summer, as Evan was able to get penetration off the first five yards and then followed the wide receiver like a hawk with his ball-tracking ability. He also ran a verified 4.56 in the 40-yard dash and an impressive 9'2 in the broad jump.

Andres Cardenas, DB, Rogers 2027 Twitter

The clamps were on with full-effect during day two of the CMFA MEGA Camp for Rogers 2027 defensive backs Andres Cardenas and everybody knew it. He also made the podium in day one's testing session, with the top time in the pro agility at 4.52 and what I loved was the translation his pro agility made into day two, as this young man was able to use his change of direction extremely well on any route that was thrown his way. He was another DB that was battled tested all day in day two, and reaped the benefits by being pulled in for the "best of the best" in the DB group for the final rep. He made it an interesting one as the whole staff (and myself) in attendance determined it was about as 50/50 as you could get as far as who on the last rep. Andres certainly was in my top-tier for biggest Stockriser from the CMFA MEGA Camp, as I would put him down as my runner up from Collegeville.

Charlie Zwilling, DL/OL, Little Falls 2027 Twitter

One of the highest effort kids I watched in the defensive trenches came out of the 2027 class as a new name for me which was Charlie Zwilling of Little Falls. You could gauge very quickly how violent Charlie was with his hands and the athleticism that came with that nasty punching ability he showed off. I feel the position flexibility this young man has translates will on both sides of the ball as the 6'0 300 pounder should see that come his way for the Flyers heading into the 2025 fall season.

Reed Nielsen, OL, Rocori 2027

Another Rocori offensive linemen that int rigued me during the 1v1 session on day two as he was one of the most immovable offensive linemen out of his stance for most of the reps I watched, was Reed Nielsen in tthe Spartans 2027 class. He had some of the most persistent fesity yet balanced hands in the offensive line group. What I loved most about Reed's skillsets was how low his pad-level was for his size as his striking ability was gifted with solid leverage at the point attack. Another 2027 sleeper to know out of Rocori's offensive trenches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1658453' first='Wyatt' last='Ackerman'], QB, Sauk Rapids-Rice 2028 Twitter

It wasn't the biggest group of quarterbacks, but the one that did catch my attention towards the end of the day two session was [player_tooltip player_id='1658453' first='Wyatt' last='Ackerman']. Where Wyatt was persistent most was on intermediate and deep routes as he ended his day with a bang, fitting his throw into an extremely tight window right on point where it needed to be from a precision perspective. Surely a 2028 QB target I hope to get more looks at this summer and beyond out of the 320 area code.
