3A/4A IDLs To Know

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As we approach the season, realignment is at the top of my mind. For the first time, North Carolina is going to an 8A system, which will further stratify the schools. So, over the next couple of months, I'm going through classifications to highlight the players fans will need to know.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>You can find the other positions for the 3A/4A schools below. Now, I'm looking at the 3A/4A interior defensive linemen. He's tough to run by, but he doesn't just clear the way for his linebackers to make tackles, he makes plenty of stops himself. He's not the biggest guy, but he holds his own at the point of attack and offers plenty of pass-rushing juice. Despite limited playing time, he did have two sacks last season, but his most consistent contribution was as a fullback. He averaged over eight yards a rush thanks to a fearlessness that also shows on the defensive side of the ball. He can win with speed or power, but the speed is what's most surprising. McBryde frequently runs plays down from the back side and moves extremely well for a big guy.
