By proxy, I am a fan of [player_tooltip player_id='1515056' first='Minjoon' last='Kang']. Kang is an end who maintains a very low pad level when he slants. Not lost in this pad level, however, is quickness - quickness that allows him to penetrate and win the adjacent gap, while breakign down at an appropriate backfield depth, when he cross faces. This might stem from his solid get off, which is matched with equally as good pursuit angles. I like a prospect that hustles, and that is what Kang does all around the field. We also see him understand pressure and leverage, as we see him spin back to avoid getting washed on down blocks. He is a good backside bender who, I feel, is an outstanding technical player. Kang has excellent traits that can be accentuated all over the field.

Ridge is another program that I am a bit partial to as they continually put out prospects like [player_tooltip player_id='1552342' first='Nate' last='Engdahl']. Engdahl does a great job fighting reach blocks by attacking the opponent's hands, allowing himself to get free and disrupt. Man down? Hand down. Engdahl steps down with down blocks and gets his hands on, disrupting the down blocker's path to the second level, while squeezing very well. His hans allow him to feel pressure and play from there. Additionally, this stout defender holds the point of attack extremely well and does not get move off his spot due to how well he moves his feet. When unblocked, Engdahl takes good angles of pursuit and has disciplined eyes when in the backfield.

Another contemporary football factory, Winslow, his home to [player_tooltip player_id='284073' first='Rob' last='Carstarphen']. An interior defender, Carstarphen has shown the athleticism required to long stick down two gaps, while also being a forceful tackler that is able to hit and dump a defender. He is often used in line stunts and has a good get off. I feel as though that Carstarphen is pretty twitchy, yet really raw. This is a good thing to some college coaches. Moreover, Carstarphen looks like he plays the game without thinking, just processing what is going on in front of him and balling out.

Another defensive lineman, [player_tooltip player_id='1198324' first='Sincere' last='Charles'], is a prospect who absolutely hugs the line of scrimmage, from where he knifes into the backfield. On film Charles looks like a total load to block. I think part of his might be attributed to the fact that he fires out of his stance, rather than up, plus that he does a good job of driving his feet. A strong presence, Charles is deadly when he bench presses offensive linemen off of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='212403' first='Tahj' last='Smith'] was an interesting prospect to watch. I am unsure if he is a hand-in-the-dirt sort of defender, one who can play in space, both, or a hybrid. What film does show is though is that he worls his hands well, particularly swipe and clubs, while also snatching defenders down and finishing with rips. His hands allow Smith to feel pressure and disengage from there. When tackling Smith gets hands on his opponent and wraps very well. Lastly, Smith has shown a burst at moments when unblocked and the more and more I watched of his film, the more I liked his effort when defending the run.
<!-- wp:acf/hudl Film is one of the best tools to self-scout, evaluate, and improve. As is the case with any rankings update, we want to celebrate and highlight select prospects who had some really nice film and talk about their game. That said kill the lights, close the blinds, and turn the projector on and join me, as we prepare to enter the film room to discuss what I saw on film.
