[player_tooltip player_id='374785' first='Zane' last='Johnson'] has solidified himself as the top quarterback in the state in his class over the past couple seasons. Johnson has the top intangible that you want in a quarterback which is that he is a winner, leading Trinity to two state championship titles in his first two seasons. He is impressive from a physical standpoint as well. Johnson has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game along with the accuracy to fit passes into tight windows with ease. As a sophomore, Johnson completed 162/296 passes for 2,001 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 14 games. He also scored one rushing touchdown last season. Zane currently holds offers from Miami (OH), Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, and Southern Mississippi, and I expect more to come his way going into his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='378831' first='Kade' last='Goodin'] has been high on our radar since his freshman year. He had another very impressive season as a sophomore, completing 172/319 passes for 2,189 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 10 games. Goodin has shown true improv ability when under pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket and scramble around while keeping his eyes down the field then either tucking the ball and running or making the tough throw on the run. He has also showcased impressive arm strength which he uses to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. As a ball carrier, Goodin has shown the speed and elusiveness to break away for a big gain at any given moment, leading his team in rushing as a sophomore with 151 carries for 861 yards and 13 touchdowns. Goodin currently holds offers from Marshall, Bowling Green State, Southern Mississippi, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157497' first='Dre'mail' last='Carothers'] has served as a backup the past two seasons but he impressed when his number was called last season and has continued to stand out on the camp circuit this offseason. Carothers throws an impressive deep ball, showing the arm strength to stretch the field and touch to put the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. He has also shown the ability to roll out of the pocket and make throws on the run with ease. As a sophomore, Carothers completed 39/68 passes for 701 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception. Carothers currently holds offers from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect college coaches to be paying close attention to him as he takes the reins as the starting quarterback this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='205472' first='Emmett' last='Queen'] is an intriguing quarterback prospect who has been on our radar since his freshman year. He has played in a backup role over the past couple seasons but he has still put together impressive film and has made a name for himself at college camps. Queen is an accurate passes, showing the ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly and hit receivers out of their breaks so that they can make catches in stride. He has also shown the arm strength to be a very effective passer in the deep passing game. Emmett currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Miami (OH), and Toledo, and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him this season after transferring to Beechwood where he will lead a high-powered passing attack.

To wrap up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1050315' first='Max' last='Johnson']. Johnson is coming off a strong sophomore season in which he completed 143/225 passes for 2,001 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 10 games. He is very impressive under pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket when necessary while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run while also showing the toughness to stand strong in the pocket when there is nowhere to run and deliver throws with defenders closing in on him. Johnson has also displayed an impressive deep ball, using his arm strength to stretch the field while also showing the ball placement to put the ball where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. Max also ran the ball 82 times for 118 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore. Johnson currently holds offers from Tennessee Tech, Murray State, Gardner Webb, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect that list to continue to grow over the next two seasons.
