In 2024, Central, in Norwood Young America, had one of the most dominating regular seasons in the state. They finished undefeated and were only challenged in one contest – a ten-point win on the road over a seven-win Randolph team. They outscored their Section 4AA opponents by 83 points over the course of three games. The run finally ended with a loss in the Class AA state quarter finals. This season, they return a pair of DII commits, experience on the line of scrimmage, and a quarterback who got a lot more time than most backup quarterbacks.

An Augustana commit, Hackbarth is a long, athletic defensive end. He uses quickness of the line to destroy any angle an offensive lineman might have on him. Then, he can get thin fast to prevent blockers from getting a square hit on him. The defensive end uses his hands effectively, utilizing his initial punch to create some separation. He holds the edge well and has good footwork coming down the line of scrimmage.

Dent, who has an offer from Southwest Minnesota State, is one of the most dangerous punt returners in the state. His straight-line speed and ability to make full-speed cuts make him not only a great punt returner, but that speed translates over to offense. When Dent gets into the open field, he is a nightmare for defensive backs. The wide out has the vertical and athletic ability to help out his quarterback if the throw is not perfect.

Fenney is a long, athletic outside pass rusher who has good speed around the corner. His length allows him good separation to keep blockers off his body and legs. As a stand-up pass rusher, he comes off the edge with speed, but is not out of control. He does a great job breaking down to make tackles in the running game, either on the corner as he comes down the line of scrimmage. Fenney plays sideline to sideline, and while speed is his calling card, his initial punch can get blockers immediately on their heels.

On the defensive line, Slathar comes off the ball with a low pad level, making him difficult to single-block. Slathar highlights were limited, but even with limited highlights to watch, it was easy to see he has a quick first step and can play inside and at defensive end. Like Fenney, Slathar uses his quick first step and overall athleticism to make life difficult for blockers.

Evenski split time at quarterback last season, but he has more than enough juice to keep the Raiders' offense humming. Evenski has a big arm. He throws an effortless deep ball, but throws with great deep touch. While I wouldn't say he is a running quarterback, if the opportunity presents itself, he has enough speed to tuck the ball away and get up the field. The soon-to-be senior makes quick decisions and is decisive with the ball. He anticipates well and doesn't hold on to the ball long before getting it out of his hand.
