Section One: Shoemaker and Miller lead Five Athletes to Watch

The three-sport Athlete is committed to Harvard for Lacrosse. Shoemaker has an elite frame for the position making him a deadly weapon on the Rye offense.   Shoemaker displays long speed paired with length and a high football IQ. His 6'5" frame makes him a 50/50 ball threat.He projects best as an outside receiver given his frame. Adding some weight could see him line up in Y-TE formations at times. Vertical routs are a strong trait for him as the speed and build combination make him an elite threat.   His lacrosse tape displays a quick burst and solid first step not shown on the football field. His athletic profile is impressive, utilizing his skills throughout the sports he plays.      The 6'4" Carmel prospect holds offers from eight schools in the northeast and is currently committed to Delaware. Mercer can play on both sides of the ball given his frame.   Mercer has a quick first step allowing him to create pressure immediately. His height and IQ allows him to bat multiple balls down at the LOS. He is a major play disruptor with a solid tool bag of moves allowing him to impact almost every play.   On the offensive side of the ball, Mercer is a wrecking ball, moving opposing players with ease and creating huge gaps for on the LOS for his offense. Despite his ability on the offensive side, he projects better on the defensive side of the ball.      Miller is an intriguing prospect. Another Rye three-sport athlete committed to Harvard. He gained the starting position last year after his brother graduated. Listing as a QB and ATH, he started multiple positions in his sophomore season.   As a QB, he displays traits that can lead to success. His film displays solid IQ with the ability to breakdown a defense. Miller works best outside the pocket and is a dual-threat playmaker with above average speed. His arm strength and accuracy are both solid as is his footwork. Mechanics can use some fine tweaking.   Following in his brother's footsteps, Carson is for sure a top QB in the state, and should receive a rankings bump in time.        Burbridge is a solid prospect who frequently attends camps. The 6'1" 205-pound LB should look to gain 10-15 pounds of good weight before reaching the college level.   On the football field, he can play on the line as an edge rusher if needed but projects as a LB at the next level. He has a quick first step with an elite burst allowing him to hit the gap immediately. His IQ is elite as he seems to know the opposing play immediately. He is an excellent tackler who is capable of making elite plays across the field.   His physicality and playmaking abilities are unmatched and combine to make him a top defensive player in Section One.      Standing at 5'8" 155-pounds, Palazzolo has an average size for the WR position. Despite this, the Somers star, makes up for his size with his playmaking ability.   Palazzolo has a quick first step, catching DB's off guard allowing him to become an elite deep threat. His physicality is unmatched as he displays the ability to make tough catches through contact and haul in 50/50 balls. He displays a solid understanding of the route tree and has an above average IQ. A few routes he excels in are posts and corners. In these routes he displays his quick change of direction.   Palazzolo is a sneaky good prospect who is certainly a top pass catcher in the section.
