Mountain View Prep made an instant impact in its first season of football.

The Stars went undefeated in Region III-3A. Led by running back Jaylen McGill and wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1418192' first='Kadarus' last='Hainsworth'], they finished 12-1 and reached the third round of the Class 3A playoffs.

With All-State senior quarterback TJ Morris and running back [player_tooltip player_id='1036753' first='Aiden' last='Gibson'], Woodruff placed second behind MVP. The Wolverines come back this year looking to avenge the 40-38 loss to the Stars last season.

Meanwhile, Union County, Chapman and Broome have its share of talented returning players. All three will look towards their potential team MVPs to help spark a turnaround.

Broome Centurians

[player_tooltip player_id='1592026' first='Tyqwon' last='Booker'] RB, 2026

The 6-foot, 160-pound rising senior had a productive first season. His 1,305 rushing yards and eight touchdowns earned him both All-Region and All-State honors. He's shifty running upward and eluding tacklers and turns on the speed when close to the endzone. With 2,000-plus passer Jameson Dearbury back, teams will have to concern themselves with both the Centurians air and ground attack.

Chapman Panthers

[player_tooltip player_id='1732638' first='Khamari' last='Turner'] DL, 2026

At 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, the rising junior disrupts offenses with his athleticism and persistence. He possesses a quick move off the snap, putting him in position to collect a sack or make a tackle for loss. Turner has also seen time at tight end and H-back on offense and head coach Harry Cabiness praises his leadership skills.

Mountain View Prep Stars

[player_tooltip player_id='1418192' first='Kadarus' last='Hainsworth'] WR, 2026

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound rising senior is the lone returning top offensive player for the Stars. He was the main target for quarterback Bryson Drummond last season. Hainsworth accounted for 40 receptions for 947 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also contributed on the ground and special teams. Look for him to be a focal point offensively as MVP looks to reload with younger players.

Union County Yellow Jackets

[player_tooltip player_id='1592645' first='Jaylon' last='Davis'] DL, 2026

An All-State defensive lineman last season for the Yellow Jackets. He was a workhorse upfront dominating the middle of the field with 7.5 sacks and 58 total tackles. The 6-foot, 280-pound senior uses his size and quickness to overwhelm blocks enroute to making tackles. Should Davis provide the same impact defensively, this could give Union County an opportunity to compete with returning players on offense.

Woodruff Wolverines

[player_tooltip player_id='1036753' first='Aiden' last='Gibson'] RB, 2027

With close to 2,000 total yards and 28 touchdowns last season, the All-State running back (pictured) was threat every time he touched the football. He combines a lethal combination of speed, athleticism and power. Whether Gibson is taking the handoff or making the catch, once he turns upfield, good luck trying to chase him down. Among the schools who've made offers are Virginia Tech, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, and South Carolina.
