National Preps Collegiate Showcase: Top DB Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The National Preps Collegiate Showcase was held recently at Archbishop Spalding HS (MD). It was the 16th year of the NP Showcase that consist of some of the top talent in the Mid-Atlantic region putting on a show for over 125+ college coaches from FCS/D2/D3 schools. Measuring in at 5'11" 176lbs and running a 4.56 40 he looks the part of an athletic safety. All camp long Anthony showed off quick feet and loose hips, bursting out of break with fluidity. He knows how to stay in phase and not get in bad position, and then shows quick reactions to run the route and break on the ball. Anthony also has great ball skills, taking good angles to go attack the ball for PBUs &amp; INTs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A smooth, versatile, playmaking DB, Anthony is a prospect on the rise and showed why at the NP Showcase. I wasn't the only one to notice how well he did on the day as he picked up his first offer from Catholic at the camp. He had an impressive SBJ of 9'4 1/4" at the showcase. Nigel plays with excellent burst and COD speed. He's got loose hips and a long fluid stride, which most likely comes from him running track as well. In 1v1's he should good physicality being able to bump &amp; run and stay in phase. Nigel keeps good balance while playing on his toes, doesn't let the receiver break his cushion and open it, allowing to break with the route and get his hands on the ball for PBUs. A slapped together muscled up frame, Jonah ran a 4.5 40 and had an excellent 9'6" SBJ. With those numbers, Jonah looked the part and backed it up. Very smooth in his back pedal, can plant &amp; drive one the ball, and attacks the ball in the air. Jonah is a physical DB as well, able to press and fight for the ball. He shows good instincts and is a natural ball hawk. Jonah showed very well in 1v1s, keeping good balance in his transitions, showing smooth hips and keeping himself in good position to make a play on the ball. Not letting the WR break his cushion and get over top of him, while also staying in their pocket. He has has great size &amp; length for the position, measuring in at 6'1 1/2" 173lbs and had the top SBJ of the whole camp with a 10'0" - which is a very strong number for a high school DB. Elijah showed off quick hips and the ability to plant and drive from multiple angles. Rangy, with a long stride, Elijah covers a lot of ground and shows good balls skills, able to track it and go get it. He is a physical DB, strong in press coverage and able to bump WRs off their route. He is best as a S and he checks a lot of boxes for that spot with his size, length, athleticism, and ball hawk ability. A DB with nice size, measuring in 6'1" 175lbs with a 9'6 1/2" broad jump, he looked the part during testing. With twitchy hips and quick feet, Jayden is fast to the ball and in transitions. Nice COD speed and overall agility, he plays on his toes always ready to go make the play. A physical DB, he plays in the box often and is a strong tackler. He is versatile able to play that SS role, while also quick enough to play in the slot as the nickel DB. In 1v1s he showed off his fast feet &amp; hips, running the route and staying on the hip of the WR for multiple PBUs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good athlete who offers positional versatility, Jayden showed off his skill set on the day and college coaches should be reaching out. I feel he is a easy D2 money kid and needs to be on the radar for FCS schools.
