About Jonah Brown
Expert Analysis
Ed OBrien | Prep Redzone Scout
Brown is a solid technician at the cornerback position. Whether it’s him pressing a receiver on the line of scrimmage or him lined up off the receiver, his technique puts him in a great position to make plays. I like the way he reroutes receivers when he’s at the line of scrimmage, giving no free release. Brown understands spacing in Cover 2, 3, and quarters. He does a good job of reacting quickly to underneath throws. More film of Brown in man-to-man coverage would help his recruiting efforts. A school that emphasises zone coverage would love to have a player like Brown on its football team.

Jonah is a player who really impressed me on the day and will be a riser in the upcoming rankings. A slapped together muscled up frame, Jonah ran a 4.5 40 and had an excellent 9’6″ SBJ. With those numbers, Jonah looked the part and backed it up. Very smooth in his back pedal, can plant & drive one the ball, and attacks the ball in the air. Jonah is a physical DB as well, able to press and fight for the ball. He shows good instincts and is a natural ball hawk. Jonah showed very well in 1v1s, keeping good balance in his transitions, showing smooth hips and keeping himself in good position to make a play on the ball. Not letting the WR break his cushion and get over top of him, while also staying in their pocket. Jonah will be a DB to catch coaches eyes this summer and see him having a strong senior year.
