More than two dozen teams made their way to Louisiana (Lafayette) for this year's edition of the Ragin' Cajuns' annual high school 7-on-7 tournament.

And a long list of talented prospects — both familiar faces and more under-the-radar athlete — helped highlight the day with eye-catching performances.

Here's a look at eight standouts, with a focus on spreading the spotlight to different schools and leaning more toward new names and stock-risers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1593755' first='Karon' last='Eugene'] — 6-2, 170 DB — Catholic (New Iberia) (2027)

The Panthers' multisport standout was all over the field for the reigning Division-III Select champions' defense showing a great combination of instincts, break and speed to cover huge chunks of ground in a hurry and quickly close passing windows.

[player_tooltip player_id='261907' first='Peyton' last='Houston'] — 6-0, 195 QB — Evangel Christian (2027)

The highly touted 2027 quarterback prospect helped lead the Eagles to the tournament title in equally explosive and efficient fashion. Houston was chasing an 80% completion rate throughout the day while he and his receiving corps, including 2026 Louisiana Tech commit [player_tooltip player_id='740992' first='Johnny' last='Casey'] Jr., gashed their way up and down every field in the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1737081' first='Javon' last='Javius'] — 6-1, 155 DB — East Ascension (2026)

The long, lean corner was a clear vocal and veteran leader in the Spartans' secondary with at least one interception and one third-down breakup during games Prep Redzone Louisiana caught.

Cedrick Jones Jr. — 6-3, 175 DB — St. Amant (2027)

St. Amant earned the top seed in the bracket and then made a semifinal run, and the performance of their rising senior corner was among the highlights as "C.J." largely locked down his half of the field and made a few well-timed plays on the ball for deflections.

Jayden Lewis — 6-3, 180 WR — Cecilia (2026)

The Bulldogs graduated a legendary 2025 class this spring following their state championship run, but a few new faces are starting to stand out in bigger roles this offseason. Lewis is a tall, long receiver Cecilia used to attack every level of the field, including trusting him to out-leap or out-body defenders for contested catches in the end zone.

Ty Lamartina — 6-1, 185 QB — Acadiana (2026)

One of the storylines for the Wreckin' Rams to watch entering this fall is the team working to replace big shoes at quarterback. But the new starter was slinging the ball up and down the fields to a talented receiving corps led by rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='934589' first='Collin' last='DiBetta'] and transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1237761' first='Travis' last='Gallien'].

Landen Ortte — 6-2, 190 DB — St. Thomas More (2027)

The Cougars' safety and gone from the promising youngster pushing his way into the lineup as a sophomore to now an experienced and vocal leader patrolling the middle of the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='401966' first='Jakias' last='Villanueva'] — 5-6, 150 WR — St. James (2026)

The Wildcats' veteran receiver continues to be one of the top playmakers on the field everywhere he and the team go, and the Cajuns' tournament was no exception. St. James made a run to the title game, and Villanueva was a highlight all day with not only his quick feet and sharp route-running, but tough catches through contact.
