I had the pleasure of seeing him play when I was an intern for MHP. He can play! He's very coachable as well. Through 6 games played, and 2 started, he had 7 tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL. Wells has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. Good quickness out of his stance, engaging in a low pad level to get leverage on the OL. Good hand speed. Very good get off, with disengaging from the block. Very good block shedding. Wells demonstrates his mental processing by not getting fooled on read options plays. His very good competitive toughness is throughout the tape. He plays through the whistle, helping his teammates finish tackles, or using his relentless pursuit to cause pressure on the QB. He has a very high ceiling, and will be turning heads this fall.

Madid measures in at 5'9 229 pounds. I had the pleasure of seeing him at one of our PRZ combine events. Madrid has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. He has good strength to win the reps against the offensive line. Due to his size, it's easier for him to get a lower pad level and out leverage bigger OL. Good hand placement and very good hand strength. Good bull rush and spin move. Watch out for Madrid as he goes into his next season with some more notches on his belt.

Lawson had himself a productive freshman year rushing off the edge, leading all freshman with 4 sacks. The 6'2 215-pound defensive end had 21 total tackles (7 solo, 14 assisted), 7.5 TFL, and 4 sacks. Lawson has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, lateral agility, and good speed. Very good strength. He uses a very quick burst at the line of scrimmage, allowing him the upper hand against the tackle. Lawson has a good quickness out of his stance, engaging with the defender first. Good get off, and good block shedding. Powerful legs to push OL back into the pocket. Switches between a spin move and a bull rush. Very good bend around the edge. Lawson is a very good tackler. Tackles towards center of gravity and pulls down. Very good competitive toughness. Takes on double blocks and succeeds. He'll even run to the other sideline to make sure the player gets tackled. Lawson is an exciting player, who I'm looking forward to see more of.

Mondragon was a stout force for Monte Vista last season. He had 51 total tackles (20 solo, 31 assisted), and was plugging up the run all season long. He has good athletic ability due to good speed, acceleration, and lateral agility. He has very good strength to control the OL at the LOS. Good quickness out of his stance engaging in a low pad level. He demonstrates good hand speed and get off to quickly disengage from the block. Uses his strength to rip through blocks. Good bull rush. Very good pursuit, as he doesn't stop until the play is finished. Mondragon showcased good tackling skills as well. I'm excited to see more of him going forward.

Rounding off this list is DT [player_tooltip player_id='983147' first='Brice' last='Boulton']. Boulton measures in at 6'3 300 pounds and had 29 total tackles (11 solo, 18 assisted), 3.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, and 4 QB pressures. Good athletic ability due to very good lateral agility, good acceleration, and speed. Boulton has very good quickness out of his stance bordering elite. He is instant. Boulton has very good strength. Consistently ripping through the offensive line and eating up blocks for breakfast. Very good block shedder. Boulton is an aggressive player. He uses his very good bull rush to consistently push the pocket. He holds double blocks and splits with ease. One thing about him, is his relentless pursuit. Boulton doesn't give up until the play is finished. Very exciting young player, who deserves some extra looks.
